For the record, I know my cable works because I've used it twice before. In the tutorial, it says to run INPA and let the EDIABAS server run after closing INPA, but when I close INPA, by default the EDIABAS server shuts down. I can't seem to figure out how to keep it running. Any ideas?
dallas.daines....can you provide me with a link or the pdf if the case of the tutorial you are using please?

LMB335IS...do you have an instructions guide or link to thereof for using the BMW tools such as NCSExpert, NCS Dummy, INPA, etc?

I have successfully loaded the programs based on the information provided in this thread by our kind host, but now that I have it, I am unsure how to proceed to removed various gong sounds and to read engine codes that popped up? Anything you or anyone can provide to get me started would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Here's a link to a YouTube video I made showing how to use the BMW coding tool.

Next on my list is updating the maps in my 2009 e92. I'm pretty sure I have to do it via DVDs and I need to generate an FRC code or something like that? I know I can pay someone to generate the code and give it to me, but is there a way to do this myself via coding?

For the FSC, you have to extract the 1B file from your CIC. Then you have to find the software that use that 1B file in conjunction with the map version you have. If you can't extract the file yourself, then you'll need someone with BMW ASAP Portal access to download it for you.

I have a 2009 e92 with the CIC navigation. I downloaded an FSC generator from another thread and it seems pretty simple to use, but the directions are kind of vague. Do you or anyone else have any knowledge of how it works? The only projected hiccup I can see is that it says it has to run on a 32 bit OS and I have Windows 7 64 bit via Parallels on my Mac. It's not too big of a trouble installing 32 bit, but it would take awhile and I don't want to do it unless I'm sure it'll work.

I hate to keep asking questions here, but you guys really seem to know your stuff. So what's the difference between and ENET cable and a K+DCAN cable? In order to find my FSC code, it says I need an ENET cable. Is that different from a K+DCAN cable that I use for coding?

You have to use the enet cable (F series coding cable) so you can create a network connection to your car, which is something a KDCAN can't do. That's the easiest explanation.

Alright, so I've bought a new K+DCAN cable, coded my car to my heart's desire and updated nav maps to 2016. What else can I do with a K+DCAN cable? I've been reading about updating the ECU firmware, but it's hard to tell what gains I would get from this, or how it's done. It sounds like it's possible with a K+DCAN cable, it just takes longer than some other more expensive cables. There's no point in looking into updating the transmission software since I have a 328i (N51) so the Alpina B3 doesn't apply. What other suggestions do you guys have for me? I've been reading through the BMW coding threads, but it's hard to tell what applies to my specific car.

Mind if I ask what the updated download links include?

If I downloaded your files in January would the link you updated today be more current than those files?

Nothing changed within the setup, the link just changed.

Never mind, found the post where you stated **************.com. Do I just purchase the regular cable or do I need the OTG as well?

You only need the OTG if you plan on using the cable with MHD or Carly in the future.
