Bought a new 7.5 setup intercooler from BMS as my current one cant handle the mods. Also got bimmerlife coil packs and harness so cant wait to see the difference they make. Also got a CSF radiator, 2 boost solenoids and fresh 1 step colder NKG plugs which i will gap to 0.026. Everything should be installed next week. Once thats done I most likely start looking at retuning again on e85 map.. I will keep you guys updated. Im pretty slack these days. lol

Very easy to install. Plug and play. Tuesday I should have it in the car installed. Mine took 6.5 weeks to get after ordering it.

Sweet that means my VRSF race should fit with my CSF rad!

Hows your tuning going? Has she been fully dialled in yet you should be making pretty big numbers

Just tuning a backend flash by wedge for 98ron. Trying to get it maxed out first then I will get a e85 map. Removed the jb4 completely. Wanted to see the difference.

Ahh right, I could see in your datazap logs your boost is kinda funky assumed you still had some tuning to sort out!

G/L with it will be good to see some more results once you get her dialled in

You shouldn't have any issues fitting your VRSF Race IC Shane. Just a bit of plastic cutting to do.

Hi Guys its been awhile since I have put anything up but went up to Simply Tuning yesterday to do some dyno runs to actually see what it can do. Dan (Duck101) threw it on the dyno. It ended up pushing 585rwhp/435rwkw and 26psi but we found that it was misfiring up the top end due to the head bolts being stretched and the head lifting so we stopped right there as coolant was pissing out under boost and through the exhaust and the tank. So ordered some APR head bolts then have to pull the engine out in the next few weeks. We reckon it has more power to produce but until we get that sorted, I'll be babying the thing around.

Excellent results DAT. Pity about the stretched head bolts though.

Wow Ive never heard of head bolts being lifted on a N54!

Hmm do you have any idea if youre running oem head bolts when you got the motor work done?

Good luck with the repairs mate, and thanks got the LPFPS in should have the car back in the next few weeks with my new clutch turbos FMIC setup etc

PS: Maybe get Dan to check to see if your CSF radiator has been rubbing on the A/C hardline and cold side lower chargepipe. VTL's had rubbed in both areas (he had to get a new A/C line) and whilst my car was apart for turbo install my mechanic had noticed it was rubbing on the lower cold side chargepipe and A/C line also like VTL's.

Have you tried adding some valve overlap to reduce cylinder pressure? No knock during head lifting?

That is not how you fix head lifting lol.

Sadly when you start toying with power and low down torque. Your remote tuners who aren't there to see, feel or hear. or part time tuners that don't understand engines end up either lifting heads or bending rods. I did half a ramp before backing out and knowing somethin was up. Pulled plugs and showed ando straight away what i could see. Spark plugs never lie sadly

Lucky you have strong rods and pistons. So instead just pushes the head up. Lol.

I am keen to see what these ps2 can do.

I’m glad you caught it, but making assumptions about others’ experience isn’t always wise. I’ve dyno tuned in person plenty and seen numerous lifted heads on the dyno and in racing. Reducing cylinder pressure in any way possible does help reduce head lift, ideally as a bandaid until the cause is corrected if that power level is required.

Don’t really hear about it on N54’s at those (and higher) power levels, though, definitely not normal hence the question about knock.

Rather than being derisive towards others in what I can only assume is an attempt to protect your business against those pesky remote tuners, perhaps just focus on being good at what you do? Having parts in stock helps too, that way people can buy them; shops seem to do better when they can exchange goods for money.
