What I don't understand is you would have thought that fitting a supercharger to a non boosted engine would be easier than fitting a turbo to run with the OEM ECU?!

OP actually swapped the whole engine bay order in order to run his project, by looking at his engine bay, he moved the whole coolant expansion tank and all lines and hoses from left to right so there is more room for the GT35 to go in, so even OP can mass produce the manifolds and off-the-shelf tune for sale, this is still very involving to fit

Well, looks like the conformation over the years of the n52 not being strong enough for boost have been broken. DigiDon has done a great job with this project, proven to others that it's possible to maintain a turbo n52! Great stuff

Great to see you offering manifolds! Any thoughts on supplying a full kit? Just curious as I no longer have my e91.

With that being said it generally comes down to hardware failures like rod bolts that lead to blown motors.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=103 Our rods are forged but with smaller (than n54) rod bolts and cast crank.

Well with that uplifting info, I change my mind. We may be good for 700hp and 700ftlb!! So the crank would most likely be the weak point..

You and others seem to think magnesium can't handle boost, I simply gave an example where it can and has... for decades.

... just in case no one knows, VAC is building a deck insert for the N54 block. it will most likely work for the N52 as well. the I dea is the take the deck from open to closed and in the process make the block more rigid.
