this app should have the ability to code out nannies.....car handles decently in RWD mode but seems even with everything off the full beans seem to get ruined by torque-vectoring or throttle cuts by ecu at the limit....and that kills the fun quick.
I actually find car to feel better with x-drive engaged and also much quicker. |

Very good new. Can I expect, in the future release, manually make percentage adjustments front rear diff, and staying there ? I mean, just to make an example, could it be like running 70/30 fixed? [EDIT obviously I was meaning 70 at the back...] Thanks. Last edited by Arthuar; 06-19-2019 at 08:30 AM.. Reason: Just explaining better |

No, thats impossible as you wouldn't be able to drive a single corner like that. Car would hop all the time.

I saw that in the testing stages of the app, the transfer case temp was monitored. How was this done and is there a way I can do it with ISTA?

Do we have any update on availability with IOS or at least a target date that we can look forward too?

RBT-Tuning There was an update on the google play store:
- Added Sport & Snow Setups - Added adjustable Front-Bias - Added Transfer-Case Live-Data Monitoring This app is making tremendous progress. Would you care to elaborate on the newly updated and added monitoring?

As some already noticed, we released our Sport & Snow settings on Thursday, last week. The App & the Manual have detailed descriptions how those modes work and for what they should be used.
In general, the settings turn the characteristics of the car to be more neutral/oversteery on corner exit. xDrive does not work any longer as an at-all-cost-stabilizer but will enable you to drift out of corners while being WOT. This is very similar to what BMW has done with the recent M5 "AWD Sports mode". Oversteer is much less snappy than on a full RWD car and easier to control, while being a lot faster on corner-exit at the same time. The descripitions below are also directly included in the App and in the Manual! Sport The xDrive system is setup to have a permanent low front-bias. Even if the rear wheels are spinning, the front wheels will only receive limited power to avoid understeer on wet and dry roads. This setting will shift your car to be more oversteery (compared to stock) but will still generate enough traction on corner exits to stay full on throttle, even in 1 st and 2 nd gear. Please note: This setting is NOT intended to be used for Burnouts or on 2WD-Dynos! The Transfer Case permanently monitors the relative speed between Front and Rear-Wheels and will put your car to limp mode if there is too much relative movement over extended periods. It is safe to use for normal road use, driving on racetracks and for drifting sessions. Please use our Live-Data-Feed to monitor your Clutch-Stress while experienced driving. You should never exceed 50% for extended periods. Snow The Snow setting works similar to the "Sport" setting but limits the max. power to the front wheels even more, to accommodate the even lower friction on Snow. The Snow setting will make your car behave mostly like an RWD vehicle on Snow, but will give you added traction, while keeping understeer to a minimum. This setting also allows small burnouts, but must not be used on 2WD-Dynos. Please use our Live-Data-Stream to monitor your clutch stress when doing so. You should never exceed 50% stress for extended periods. Custom You can configure your Lock-Up rate from 0-100%. 100% is similar to stock, while 0% is similar to xDrive OFF. Sport and Snow settings are in between. (approx. 20% and 50%) Please use the custom setting with caution and use our Live-Data-Feed to monitor your Clutch-Stress. Also obey the common rules, mentioned with the Snow and Sport setting. Do NOT drive staggered wheels with any setting above 0%. (this is only allowed in xDrive OFF) xDrive OFF Your car will drive like a RWD vehicle. The power transmitted to the front is kept at 0 Nm at all time. This means the power split between front and rear is 0/100 Front/Rear. Please note, that the xDrive clutch is submerged in oil and therefore a small amount of power will always reach the front wheels, even if the clutch is fully open. For instance, on a lift all 4 wheels will still turn, but you can easily hold the front wheels still with your bare hands. (Disclaimer: Do NOT attempt to do so…we tested it already for you. A moving wheel has a lot of inertia, you can still hurt yourself badly) xDrive ON Your car will drive completely stock. The maximum power transmitted to the front wheels depends on your type of Transfer Case, but usually is around 1100 – 1300 Nm (800 – 950 ftlb). xDrive is setup to maximize traction and keep the car stable at all cost. We also added live monitoring of the transfer case, so people can see whats going on inside. The App shows 7 Items:
Each of the items will start to flash yellow/red when they go out of boundaries. Units can be switched between metric and imperial on the top right. (3-white-dots) The Live-Monitor is license-free, so can be used to check clutch-pack-wear on every car connected. Torque Max. to Front Wheels Shows you the actual clutch pressure, converted to the max. transferable torque. This is NOT the actual torque transmitted, this is the max. torque the clutch can forward at a given pressure. The xDrive System is not an active differential, but rather a clutch that opens/closes and transmits power to the front wheels. This is true for all BMW..there is no other system. That said, the clamping pressure of the clutch defines the maximum torque that can reach the front wheels. The actual power is defined by current torque output of the engine multiplied by the current gear ratio. If that number exceeds the max. Torque to front Wheels, the clutch will start to slip. Thermal Stress Clutch Pack As soon as the clutch-pack clamps above a certain pressure and slip occurs the Thermal Stress will raise. Friction between the clutch plates is converted to heat, which dissipates into the transfer case's oil. Usually this happens quickly and the thermal stress on the clutch stays at 0%. This is standard on normal road use...the Stress will stay at 0% all the time. Only during experienced driving (drifting, race-track) the thermal stress will raise. This is perfectly fine, as long as the stress stays below 50 - 75%. When the stress reaches 100% the transfer case will hop to limp mode and you get 4x4 Error on the Dash. Our presets are tested on race-track and during free-practice wet drifting sessions. We never hit limp mode, (yes, we tried hard) as the clutch pack is pretty beefy. Temperature Actuator The actuator temp is a representation of the current oil temp. It's a bit slow (the oil warms/cools quicker), but as the transfer case does not have an oil temp sensor, this is good as it gets. Position Actuator The current angle of the motor, which clamps the clutch pack Lifetime Workload Clutch Pack This is the total work your clutch pack has seen in it's life. Those Values do not get reset at oil change, so they actually reflect the wear state of your clutches. On normal road use a clutch pack may reach up to 10-20 kWh during 60k miles. Total lifetime is around 100 - 125 kWh. (approx.) The 3 values need to be added to get the total workload. They represent 3 different power classes (L1, L2, L3), where the wear happened. L1 values are collected during Thermal Stress 0, where L2 and L3 counters are upped when the Thermal Stress is raised. So those values can be used to judge how hard the car was driven. A high L2 and L3 indicated heavy use. L1 wear happens during normal street use. Last edited by RBT-Tuning; 06-03-2019 at 11:52 AM.. |

Me too! This will resolve some of my issues with the transfer case by just leaving it in RWD mode.

Will being in sport mode lessen the stress to the transfer case and front differential during drag races? This way the power can be turned up with not as much fear of breaking transfer cases and front differential? This way you can have some benefits of awd with big power instead of just turning of xdrive all together.

Wow, just installed this tonight and I have to say it is awesome. I set it on "sport" mode and then took it for a drive on one of my favorite roads ,and man, It totally transforms the steering feel. That alone makes it for me. But with all you get, the different settings the built in "tunes", custom adjustments, monitoring, ect.. makes it well worth the money.

Bought a Samsung andriod tablet, got the cable, etc. google play refuses to accept 3 forms of payment. Says "transaction cannot be completed". Apparently not an uncommon issue from what i read online. Androids are nothing but frustrating. I remember now why I don't use them.
