SPN,

I hope that in the long run you're glad about the lemon decision. A car that beautiful (and expen$ive!) is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for some people. It's going to be a long wait, but you get to go through the whole new-ownership process again. Are you getting an exact copy of your first car?

Before you leave, as Hojin already has, thanks for all of your tracking help and links, both here and in your prior Hojin posts.

You are welcome. It was a fun thread.

Yes, my new car will be an identical copy, and in the end, I am glad my old car was lemoned. Some cars weren't meant to be cars and it will be good to start over with a fresh copy. But, as you know, the wait for delivery is painful, and since I just did it in April, I am really not looking forward to doing it again. I was actually really enjoying my new car, but. . . life happens.

It will be interesting to see what ship my new car lands on. Between myself, my friends, and my dealership, I have tracked so many car-carrying ships that I know their names well. But, maybe it will be Hojin (again)!

In between all your power drives in your beautiful new cars, drop by next month. I will STILL be here.

I have a '08 MB ML550 SUV. It's not quite as fun as the SL , but another very nice car. Same color combo as my SL, black on stone, but not quite as fun. No surprise there.

Hey, ILLCOMM, you should be in touch with Wagoneer's Trucking fairly soon. Like maybe tomorrow?? I will have to check the April Hojin thread for their phone number, but they have a (mostly) friendly customer service number and they will help you track your car up to Seattle (very fun city, I was just there) via their truck. I am not following this EPA thing that is going on with these cars, but normally, cars are released on about the third day after docking. They just need to get the truck filled with cars bound for Seattle, but I know from the threads I was on in April, one guy got his car very quickly in Seattle (like 4-5 days). Maybe you have a high-volume dealership in Seattle, so Wagoneers loads their truck easily??

Here is waggoner's web site. I am still looking for their Oxnard phone number. . . this is the only trucking company that BMW uses.

Well, I can't find their direct Oxnard number, but here is their 800 number:

Wagoneer's Trucking toll free #: 1-800-449-3195.
You will need to give them your VIN #

Any news guys?

The hotline says "Vehicle at port - awaiting shipping vessel"
Owners circle "Vehicle is at the preparation center"
CA, yesterday, said probably pick-up Friday
Other boards say EPA hold, possibly up to end of October (for turbos)
BMW-NA 800#/live person doesn't know of any holds!

What chaos -- I would expect more of BMW.

So, here's my status:

- hotline says "your vehicle is in transit" (yesterday it said - vehicle at port, - awaiting shipping vessel"
- owners circle says "En Route"
- I read the other boards and it looks like EPA hold is real and is for turbo only
didn't call the 800#

I am super excited about the hotline update as I assume it means I am on the truck headed to Seattle. However, I spoke with my CA early this morning and he said it was a the VPC.

Who knows!

Im not too excited about this. I just fear that it keeps getting pushed back. First, it was the 13th, and now the 24th.. which date comes next?

I may rethink and grab a 328 09 or look for a 335 08. Im stuck driving a kia sportage right now at $24/day.

Just got shut down. Wagoneer has a new policy: no more info on cars sent to dealerships. Boo!

Just checked "Track Your BMW" on my Owner's Circle, and this morning it says "Your car is at the Vehicle Preparation Center"!!!!!! Cars are clearing customs, and will soon be on the way to our dealers!

Hmm. Mine still says En Route. What dealer did you use? BMW of Seattle? If so, we'll probably be on the same truck up.

I used Delon in Salem, OR. I did European Delivery. None of the Seattle area dealers were willing to negotiate - they dictate terms, which I found off-putting (too much Microsoft/Amazon money here, I speculate).

Jim Mannheimer in Salem gave me $xx over invoice with no silly markup fees, so I got a really great deal.

Hi guys,

My (Hojin) 535i has been "at preparation center" on the BMW website and "awaiting a shipping vessel" since Tuesday 10-7. Finally, my CA contacted me yesterday (Thursday) with the same EPA news that everyone has been talking about. He titled the email "bad news" -- if he gives me any new details today I'll post here, but there is another thread going on the EPA issue on this same board.

There was a post early this morning on the EPA forum saying that the EPA issue is resolved but that the CARB certification (for CARB-compliant states) is still pending. Hopefully this is true, since I live in a state with poor air quality and no CARB restrictions. Maybe my car will actually enter the VPC before the weekend.
