Sweet I just called Vishnu about this latest upgrade since I have the v4. They said since I just removed it for service that I could send it to them for a free harness and sw upgrade.
I really miss my boost gauge.

Thanks for the great service Vishnu !

He did change the logic and it does work........boost ramp up is just like the old days guys.

You will be pleased.

I think he's refering to WOT misfires and limp mode.

Ok guys I'm just the messenger....

I spoke to Robert and Shiv today.

As you would expect they are busy working on many things.

Shiv said if you have questions about maps or which to run FEEL FREE to give them a call.

He wanted to let you guys know that not much as changed in terms of performance on the maps in a while.

He also said that any difference you feel can be from the following and are not limited to:

Tightness of wastegates
Strength of Fuel Pump
Minor Boost Leaks
ETC

He wanted to remind you if you switch to a new map, be sure to give it time to adjust and more specifically to wastegate compensation.

He also mentioned that there reason some cars respond different then others is for obvious reasons:

Modifications
Mileage
Tightness of wastegates
Weather Climate Humidity
Octane
ETC

Here is the good news to make all the above not matter..

They are currently working on a map that will encompass the ability to adjust some settings to your particular driving style.

While some people like a real sensitive throttle and boost happy input, others like a more refined smooth approach.

Since everyone has different taste along with many difference in their specific hardware it will be a user adjustable option in the future.

For now you can use whatever map you choose that is to your "liking" as I mentioned above none are faster then another one in terms of performance the only difference would be how responsive or lack thereof one might be.

Again, any questions you can call them.

Best way to reach them is Phone. Emails are secondary and PM's they rarely check.

OK, there's definitely some inconsistencies in the replies on this topic, IMO:

I can understand him explaining that various things can cause a different feel when comparing one car to another, or one car at a certain point in time, then measured again months later, but if on the same car, you run one map, then 5 minutes later, switch to a different map, how does the car's hardware explain the differences we're feeling?
.
.
PS With respect to the Boost Control Gain, by the way, since bumping from 45% to 50% can improve things a bit, why not go higher, like to 75%? The user parameter screen shot seems to indicate that 100% is the max?

No it was all in my head ofcourse. Dude don't you think I'd know? I have had this car since September 2007. In that time I have had Dinan Original, S1, S2, then went to V2, V3, V4 and now V5. I have run most all maps and firmware. I haven't had any real issues before my car decided to disagree with the 5-10 maps. I had issues with the Dinan growing pains in the early days of their S2 too. Everyone has issues along the way, so I am most definitely not bashing, and trust me if I thought poorly, I wouldn't have the Tune. I can still go back to older maps, heck even back to Dinan.

You want me to pretend there is no issue then I assume? Trust me those running the maps know what they are experiencing. Not everyone will have issues, and we fully realize these are beta maps, so I don't see what the problem here is. Sorry if I read too much into your comment, but please don't come in here suggesting I am imagining things. My car goes into limp mode after misfiring badly and shacking and stuttering like it does when the HPFP is going out. It doesn't boost worth a damn and you have to shut down and restart once it goes into limp mode. I have these with HPFP in the past, and even a noob with almost no car knowledge will know when they get one. Just saying.

I sure hope so. We're still waiting on the UBER big thing which should justifiy the passage to V5 and all that was implied (VIN lock etc)...
