I guess we'll get guys doing this with atr. Lower boost increase timing you're lowering egt and exhaust manifold pressure, offering more timing and even more boost in the top end. An FBO in mild weather can run almost 15psi with stock timing on 93... Just make the IAT corrections greater. Hell, lower coolant temp by 10, 20deg and you get further benefits... I hope they are doing this now... There's plenty of cooling capacity it seems anyway.
I know there's safety to consider, but you can detonate after TDC also. |

That maybe a little exagerated but I'm talking theory in general. The futher boost in increased the farther youre getting from peak pressure.

I'm not sure what you guys are getting into but this car knocks even at stock boost. So you most certainly cannot run stock ignition at 15 PSI without seeing some knock. If you do you got some serious cold air and maybe a little bit of magic under the hood

If you could run 15 psi on stock timing curve without knock, the Shiv and Terry wars of 2009 would never have happened. Lmao

Geez, I may have exaggerated the specifics but I'm talking theory in optimizing engine efficiency compared to upping boost and lowering timing. anyway, carry on...

Please note that my next question has nothing to do with any tuner wars and is not an attempt at attacking COBB's tune:
How does the Stage 2 feel when boost is being pulled back from 18 down low to 10 at redline or whatever Rob said? It seems like the car would be a huge disappointment as you rev it... I'm very interested to try out the COBB stage 2 with my mods and I'd love it if someone could explain what it feels like. |

I'll trust your experiences. I don't really care what it is at redline for now as long as it doesn't feel like it falls flat on its face as you hit high rpms. Which it sounds like it doesn't anyways...
