1. Corner Delete (my favorite! ) 2. Auto-Dimming Mirrors 3. Sunroof Rain Detection Auto-Close 4. Wipers Finish Cycle 5. Digital Velocity 6. Windows Up with Key Fob I tried to do AEs upon unlock, but I couldn't find any WL (welcome light) code in my FRM. Do you know is it called something different in 2006 OBD? On another note, how well does the M3 Replica bumper fit? I'm almost tempted to get that bumper next summer. haha I like my Hartge lip, but that bumper looks amazing! |

You have to wire the angel eyes to work as drl and so they turn in upon unlock, umnitza sent me a relay harness to wire them to do that im going to be installing it over the next week and the m3 rep fits awesome took very little struggle to get it to line up and install well worth the money I love it |

So how hard is it to instal that relay for the DRL?
Can I not turn the switch some way for them to be on during the day?

a) Your 2008 should have the Welcome Light feature. If you want the AEs (i.e. Parking Lamps) to turn on upon unlock, look for WL_SL_2 in your FRM (or NFRM) and change it to "soft_einschalten" (gradual luminance upon unlock). b) Your 2008 should also have the ability to change the DRL. If you want the AEs as DRL, first look for TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE_1 (or TAGFAHRLICHT_ECE) in the FRM module and change it to "aktiv" then look for VERHALTEN_DRL_TFL within the same module and change it to "drl_s" (parking lamps as DRL). Enabling this feature however means that you will never be able to run the car without the AEs on. I enabled my DRL, but I couldn't change it to AEs, so I disabled it, because there was no way to turn off the DRL, even with the headlights set to the OFF position. However, if you don't have your AEs set as DRL, I'm not sure the AEs as welcome lights will work either. c) You can always turn the switch to Parking Lamps to have the AEs on during the day. That's what I've been doing. People are afraid to do this sometimes for fear of being pulled over or using up too much battery, but the battery only goes dead if you leave the Parking Lamps on for a long period of time when the car is NOT RUNNING. You also won't be pulled over, because if you do the Corner Delete, it will look just like DRLs that come OEM. How would a cop ever know? |

Thanks for the reply, mine does come with the DRL, I can turn it on and off from the carputer.. I guess if I want it DRL il need to code it though.
I'm not sure if I'm going to just because I kind of like the choice of being able to turn it on or off... Do the angel eye LEDs ever burn out? If they don't then I guess I might want to code it

Trev i have a question, my lights just arrived and they look amazing, HOWEVER, when i checked the bulbs i found that they are 9006 size bulbs and i couldn't plug my Philips D2S bulbs in because there's no adapter that can be plugged into the back of the D2S bulbs.
on your lights, are the bulbs they provided you 9006 or D2S size? were you able to change to your Philips D2S bulbs that you found in your garage? if so, how did you manage that? also, where did you attach the ballast? did you do drilling on the car to bolt it into place? |

UPDATE:
umnitza says the lights should have D2S bulbs and wiring but it turns out that they put in 9006 size bulbs and wiring in there for some reason. i'm disappointed by this simple mistake that could've been easily avoided. i hope they provide me with a good solution. after all i didn't pay 770 bucks to have fog lights bulbs as my low beam lmao |

I'm surprised that 9006 bulbs would even fit in the FX-R retrofit. I hope they didn't send me the wrong stuff. By the way, 9006 isn't necessarily a fog light bulb... I used to have 9006 as my low beam for my Honda Accord... that was the OEM bulb type. The best output however will come from D2S. I'm so shocked they did this, especially when they say FX-R Retrofit with Adapters... makes you think that it'll be Canbus ballasts with adapters for D2S. Btw, how do you replace a low beam bulb on these when they're on the car? I haven't tried it yet. And about the ballast location, the shop did this for me... they installed the ballasts underneath the headlights... not sure exactly what they did to keep them in place. On my Accord, all I did was 3M tape the ballasts to a close location away from heat. 3M tape is usually enough to hold the ballasts in place. EDIT: I just found some unique bulbs... D2S bulbs with 9006 bases. Maybe this is something that Umnitza did. If not, you could always sell the Philips and get these... http://hidexpert.com/producthtml/900...sed_bulbs.html Last edited by Trevendous03; 11-25-2011 at 09:01 PM.. |

UPDATE 2
yesterday i talked with Umnitza on the phone, Matt told me that they put in 9006 size bulbs in there because the D2S w/ bulb connector would be a really tight fit whereas the 9006 bulbs fitted in nicely. so the cover can be sealed tightly. i checked his story and found that the 9006 bulbs are indeed smaller than the D2S bulbs in terms of the bottom end sizes. also, D2S bulbs CAN FIT inside the FX-R projector, i tested them myself. however since Umnitza didn't provide me any adapters (Bulb connectors) for D2S bulbs i took them out later. Solution provided by Matt: he said that if i'm not happy with the 9006 i can request him to send in a pair of D2S bulbs along with the correct bulb connectors. but i have to do the sealing of the back cover myself since the D2S bulb connectors won't fit through the rubber sealing cap that's already on there. i'm going to install the lights hopefully this afternoon, and check for the beam pattern and luminosity. if they suck then i'll ask for the D2S bulbs stay tuned for pics! |

I'm wondering if those D2S bulbs with 9006 bases that I showed you would work then... seems like it would, and it would increase the intensity of the output. This makes me upset though, because I have a perfect set of Philips 85122 just sitting in my garage, and now they can't be used. How do I get to the low beam bulb? Do I just twist off that sealing cap? Or do I have to unscrew something? |

A couple pictures of my setup:
I'm sitting on ZSP suspension. I want to lower my car a little bit more. I'm thinking of getting either some KW Coilovers or Eibach Pro-Kit and Koni FSD. I don't wanna go insane with lowering, but coilovers would be nice to have to be able to raise it up in the winter. UPDATE: I just ordered matte black grills from **********s. did you order the DEPO headlights with or without the FX-R retrofit? i ordered the FX-R retrofit and umnitza was suppose to put in D2S size HID bulbs in there as low beam, but instead they used 9006. i tested them out yesterday and they were a little dimmer than i expected. so i'm going to ask them to send the D2S bulbs and the connectors to me on Monday. |

Update 3
ok, to illustrate my story i have several photos here (hopefully the photos are showing...) this is to show that 9006 size bulbs CAN FIT in the projector and the connector is INTEGRATED with the bulb, so there's NO WAY to remove the bulb with the connector from the rubber sealing cap (which i'll show you later) without CUTTING the wires. it sits in nicely because there are metal clips around the base to hold it in place. the bulb is indeed 9006 size.... Comparison between D2S (top) with 9006, as you can see the base is significantly bigger for the D2S it sits perfectly inside the projector, the metal clip will come down, i just couldn't be bothered to snap them in place. the D2S bulb in the projector and the integrated 9006 Bulbs w/ connector w/ rubber sealing cap. as you can see one set of red&black wires are from the projectors (linked to the Canbus Ballast), the other set is linked with the bulb and on top of the sealing cap there are FOUR separate holes for each wire to come through. the base of the 9006 bulb CANNOT be unpluged! now hopefully you know what i mean when i said that if i wanted to remove the 9006 bulbs i would have to cut the wires completely. they seem good quality but i would have preferred D2S bulbs will post cutoff pattern and beam quality later. and could someone tell me where is the best place to put the ballasts in??? i don't want to drill on my car and use bolts and screws, i have zip ties, double sided tapes waterproof tapes.
