Hi. Quick question. Realised when I refitted that originally there was some black sealant dabbed at the join of each end of the blow by hose. Should I have reapplied that or is that just a security seal?

Got a 2008 e92 335i looking to order the Oil Catch can and a BMS thermostat, but there is option 1 or 2 for thermostats. I should get options 2 right? |

OCC not catching oil
Hello Mike,
I had my OCC installed back in April '13. After almost 15,000 miles, I opened the can this weekend and found no oil at all. I checked with the guy who installed it, and from the picture attached he says is connected correctly. He has done many of this installations so I doubt is installed incorrectly. Also, the reason I installed it in the first place is because there was a lot of gunk in my valves, so I doubt there is no oil to catch. Have you see this before, what could possibly be wrong?
