FYI, since this is a county regional park, it required us to apply for a county permit and liability insurance for that day. Sales or services provided by "vendors" for our cars (e.g., fender rolling) is not technically permitted, and could be a problem with the park rangers. For those interested in those services, we may have to set up a nearby location this can be done at, while we have our picnic at the park. The parking lot near shelter 4 is also adjacent to a main street, but I haven't had the chance to peruse the area outside the park much.

I have a bunch of gazebo style canopies I can put up (not instant EZ-up style canopies), but I have to pre deliver these to someone that is planning to roll up in a SUV or truck....or lives near by to make a couple extra trips.

I count only 3 picnic tables...assume 60 cars some w/guests = 100 people? Better ask for BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair...and table if you have it...extras if you can)

I'm rolling in my truck, and I work in Sherman Oaks. You could either deliver them to me here, while I'm at work, or you could toss me some cash for gas and I'll come get them one evening.

So I guess setting up an autocross course around the parking lot is out of the question? Ha.

Thanks, that would be great! Long and a few others may be arriving early to help set things up as well, and it would be terrific if you wanted to get there earlier.

When I arrived at the park this past Saturday around 11:30 AM or so, it was apparent that filled up pretty quickly.

July 14 (2007) will be a busy day (according to the park), especially since it is in the middle of summertime. Therefore, we have moved the event to 10:00 am. The park opens at 7:00 am, and I'll probably be there around 8:00-9:00 am, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

We have been in touch with the County Permits department and park rangers. Essentially, what is permissible is for us to congregate, park our cars, have our little BBQ, and take photos for our own individual needs. Any direct commercial solicitation, collection of moneys, vendors, etc., is not permitted. NO ALCOHOL is allowed either. Any slight violation of these rules, and we will be asked to leave. The county is very strict about this. Greg at Mile Square Park is the ranger (whom I had spoken with) who will be working that day.

We are currently trying to devise a way Matt can roll fenders that day, and will most likely set up a remote location away from the park for those interested. Once rolled, you can come back into the park. The same applies for OnSite Wheels, Inc. (Son Tran) who you will all have the chance to meet. His work will be evident on the wheels we are rolling in on.

Chris, thank you in advance for the canopies. They do have to be less than 200 square feet each (which I assume they are).

If I don't collect money AT the meet, wouldn't the problem be solved? just tell the rangers I'm doing it ProBono. The parties can paypal me beforehand.

That sounds better since there is no re-entry to the park unless you pay for parking again. isn't that correct?

Sorry, to those interested... It turns out I will NOT be able to roll fender's at the meet. =( Sorry folks. For those of you who are willing to travel, if you come to me another time, I will still roll your fenders.
