Tonight i dropped of my car at the dealers beacause tomorrow my car get the v26 sotware update!

it's a nov06 productions and had no updates before
I can't wait to see the results!

besides that, i have some crackes in the doors and the inside of my wheels and the brake'thing' (i don't know the name in english) are a bit rusty and i hope they can do something about it.

Got mine updated today. Previous version was whatever was in since Oct. '06 production, so I got all the new goodies now, much better

Anyway I won't regurgitate what has been mentioned already, but I'm glad I got POI search, the city/state details for locations, and seeing the address / phone #... and of course the nicer graphics

I don't know the exact version # I got though... whatever the "latest" is at my dealer Hopefully v. 26.* something. My SA didn't know which version was installed, and upon pickup I asked a tech I found outside who said they always upgrade to the latest version and he thought they were upto v25 now... hopefully he's just mistaken and it's v26.

Nope There's some number next to the item on the invoice but no mention of an actual s/w version. The number is 53 something with a couple of spaces in between the numbers next to it I believe (it's in my car so I can't check).

The actual software loaded onto the car has a number starting with E89x-xx-xx-xxx

26 is just the version of the CD taht contains all the different models software

I am unsure as to which version of software I was updated to...Some people have said that it will be on the invoice when I pick up the car, however I did not get any paperwork at all when I picked up the car.

I picked it up late @8pm and my SA who is smoking hot called me and told me she would just mail it to me.

Is there a way that I can find out which version of software I have by going through the menus somehow?

That's odd. When you go to Navigation -> Information -> then select "On Location" this should search within your current position. If you select "On Destination" then you'd have to setup the details of the place you want to focus your search on.

Other than that, yea the POI will have to be done in the category that the place belongs to... Red Lobster under Restaurants for example.

Call and ask. Luckily 1clean335i works at my dealership (and isn't clueless like the SA was lol) so I was able to find out pretty easily

BTW, the number on the invoice I was referring to is actually the SIB number. The invoice states "SIB for slow system response to reprogram car 65 03 07"

- keep the iDrive button pressed for 10sec and release
- rotate the iDrive controller 3 clicks clockwise
- rotate the iDrive controller 3 clicks counter-clockwise
- rotate the iDrive controller 1 click clockwise
- rotate the iDrive controller 1 click counter-clockwise
- rotate the iDrive controller 1 click clockwise
- press iDrive button

can any explain all this variables?

Well, I tried it, and nothing happened. Just went into setting's menu for idrive.

Ok, maybe you didn't hold the button down for 10 sec? I'll check again on my car and take a photo of the that should come up and post it later today.

and dinkoh you are right first you see the settings menu but if keep holding down the button for at least 10 sec and then start the sequence you will see this picture when you press the button after the last step.

You're right. I did it again while the car was running. I have no idea what the codes mean, but you can't really change them. Nor it does really tell you what version you have as well.

Meaningless info to me.

Where on earth did you get that "combination", with no explanation of what everything was? Or is there a description of the options somewhere? Please post if there is. I hope you didn't sit there for days trying random combinations. LOL
