No I'd say the 300zxTT, VR4, SupraTT, RX-7TT, and the DSM triplets did that... all turbo cars, all flagship vehicles, all awesome in their own way. THAT is what brought it mainstream, because up to that point, big turbo cars in the aftermarket were limited to Grand Nationals mostly. It brought the money and investment and made the headlines in car mags and brought in the interest. FAR more aftermarket DSMs that were decently quick in the 90s. Hondas are what gave Japanese aftermarket culture a bad reputation and turned a lot of people off.

That all being said. The S2000 and NSX are two of the best vehicles ever made. I miss my S2000 more every day. BMW has great steering feel and driving dynamics but couldn't touch that car with a 10 foot pole.

For those ignorant of the SR20, KA24, SW20, and 4G63... yes, yes they were. We were all laughing while you ran around with fartcan exhausts and cut springs.

my family had a couple of hondas back in the day. i loved our EG6 hatchback even though it was woefully underpowered. thats the car my dad let me drive.

as for my own purchases... we got a used CR-V then traded that in for a CPO X3.

custom, built by Jay Thornton, aka "California Jay" he's moved on to quite a kick ass fabrication career, working for Vibrant.

turbo was a Garrett GT28RS (Disco Potato), 750 cc injectors, on a stock JDM B16A, made over 300 whp @ 9 lb. and reliable. fun car to drive but too much HP for a car that light, hard to keep traction when boost hit.

Wrong! Do you even really know what you're talking about? Were you involved in the industry during the boom? Honda's were the cars that people were buying turbo parts for moreso than the factory turbo'd cars.

You forgot the 6's, the 2jz and z32. There was a lot of trash driving around but not all Honda's in Melbourne had fartcan exhaust and cut springs.
