Static plus. I once knew a guy with a Golf that went budget and set it up with a HAND PUMP that he pulled out of his car at the end of shows/meets and pumped the front back up lol. Was hilarious to see.
How low will the setup take you? Think you could tuck rim?

I have got it to help just get over every day speed bumps and driveways. I do not like tucking rim... Looks like you have broken suspension lol I am just all about functionality. Should be up and running within the next 2 weeks. I'll have a full polished tank setup, Viair 380c compressor etc.. So i will have a mini boot build going on... But i need to retain as much boot space as possible |

SOOOO JUST A FEW UPDATES... NO PICTURES JUST YET
Visited Mstyle on Thursday... Coilovers are on - Still trying to let the springs settle and finalise ride height. Visited A1 BN and saw oldgreysteve on saturday... Have a read of my review on their services here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=977836 M3 Control Arms Brembo Brake Discs Akebono Pads OEM Anti Roll Bar bushs OEM Flexi Brake lines But there is one shout out i need to give!!! THE BIGGEST THANKS TO @Sparky68 (Mark) Absolute legend!!! I needed new pads ASAP as i have had terrible handling issues due to warped discs, and blown bush's. I was in a desperate rush to get everything fixed and i had ordered Akebono pads from Amazon US... But the wait would have been 2 weeks! Something i just couldn't handle. I messaged Sparky on Wednesday with a cheeky question as i knew he had purchased Boz's pads which were recently up for sale. I asked if he could send me his recently purchased pads... I wasn't expecting a Yes, but when he straight up offered to send me them, without any money or assurance... I WAS OVER THE MOON! What a real gent this guy is!!! THey were picked up thursday and i received them friday... BOOM! I will be sending my new akebono pads over to Mark when i receive them. ONCE AGAIN! Take note Lads! Sparky is one awesome guy!!! |

So here is the mini update with pics and how everything is coming along.
New Brembo Blank Brake Discs. You never realise how large they are till they are off the car. Here is a disc next to a 2L bottle! ![]() M3 TRW Front Control Arms ![]() Polished 2.5G Air Tank ![]() So the Meister R coilovers have been installed. You can see the pics of them on the previous page. This is not a great pic, but this is how she's currently sitting. Needs to go lower at the front and is in desperate need of an alignment... Currently the coilovers are maxed out on the front. They should go about 20mm lower, but due to the Static+ cup, it currently adds 20mm of height. So some small modifications to the shock are needed to go a little lower. But not much... I am looking for decent aesthetic height. Lower than you would usually be comfortable running, but as the Static+ will help me get over annoying obstacles, i should be fine. I am so impressed with how comfortable the ride is! Even with the coilovers maxed out on the front! But Jerrick from Meister R has been the most helpful guy trying to help me make this work. ![]() |

MOARRRR UPDATES!!!!!
Sorry to bore you with mini updates, but some of it may be of some help to someone, plus i just like whoring pictures when i can! ![]() So today... I went and had my desperately needed alignment. With Az's recommendation, i drove all the way to Surrey for an Alignment!!! Yes 30miles for an alignment... but it was well worth it. It is actually a Kwikfit garage, but run by car enthusiasts! So they had an awesome hunter machine to play with and they really knew what they were doing. They charged a great price, walked me through everything, talked me through bits and corrected certain parts of my knowledge on alignments etc!!!! It was worth the trip! So when i got down there, they quickly put me on the ramp and strapped everything on. My car was so terribly out of alignment, they hadn't ever seen anything like it before!!! My front tyres were literraly being chewed off by the road due to my crazy amounts of toe in! Anyway, i decided to go with regular Msport settings but dialed in my own camber... which basically means we tried to max out the camber and see what was achievable. So here are some pics ![]() AND THE BEFORE AND AFTER SPECS ![]() As you can see, with my Meister R coilovers with adjustable top mounts, we managed -1.45 ... I was hoping for more but it wasn't possible. BUT afterwards, Az mentioned there may be a way of increasing camber by moving the allen bolts on the top mounts. So may give this a go at some point. As the rear end is stock, they managed to squeeze -2.5 camber out of the rear which aint bad and i am happy with it. I didn't want to lift the outer edge of they tyre to give more grip on the road for straight line acceleration. The car is cornering well and driving straight and true with no tramlining. But it is early days and i still have to play with the ride height, both front and back before I get everything dialled in as i want it to be. As it was a nice day, i grabbed a few more snaps as the suspension seems to still be settling. It needs to go a little lower on the front and a little higher on the rear me thinks... Any thoughts? ![]() ![]() ![]() So as everything starts arriving for getting my air system operating, i thought i'd share my sexy new switches. They will be hidden in the sunglasses/ashtray holder above the gear stick, below the heated seats control panel ![]() ![]() |

Chuffed rd the fact that you hit the alignment dotted as we knew when we had your car I'm sight it was in need if correction but so glad you got it hooked up indecently that machines the same set up as the guy I rang up for you on Saturday and as you've rightly discovered if it's controlled by someone with the passion to get the job dine correctly and know their stuff the end results amazing.
Pics look good pity when you were with us I didn't get a drive in yours ah well onwards and upwards keep the updates flowing speak soon Steve |

Hey Josh, I'm glad you got the alignment sorted to your desired specs. Don't forget that the sheet shows figures in degrees and minutes, so that means that -1*44' is actually about -1.75* (degrees). That's a fair bit of camber on the front, I definitely wouldn't go any further than that.
Rear is coming up to a full -3*. My camber spec is like that also but I might have it reduced to 2.5* on the rear (i.e. 2*30' on the sheet) as the outer 1/8 of my tyres hardly grips in a straight line (there is lots of ground dirt on the inner 7/8 but the last 1/8 always looks pretty clean lol). I would definitely go lower on the fronts and adjust the rears to match. Have a look at the latest pics in my progress thread of my height where the fronts are maxed out.

stunning as ever mate....
the car is crying out for some spacers mate, any plans of spacing the fronts/rears out ? How are you finding the M3 arms, I am still on the fence about that...

The M3 arms have definitely made the ride stiffer. Quite a bit stiffer than stock, but the new coilovers are great at helping counter that and the ride is so much improved!!! Cheers! Will prob get another 5mm-7mm with teh coilover mod I am doing as I am already currently MAXED out!!! Quote:
I used to have 12mm on the front but took it off recently. my wheel smashed my fender and so i am waiting for a new one at the moment. I am pretty flush front and rear tbh and i have learnt that i HATE rubbing!!! Everyone who gets in your car thinks its broken, and i prefer performance over looks. When you cannot take a bend hard and try and make the most of your suspension, without rubbing horribly... Then i just do not see the point. I am going to give the suspension another 2 weeks to settle... Then go from there. I will be raising the rear around 7mm and dropping the front 7mm to try and level things out. I am still finding a setting i like for the suspension damping... as i still have it on the soft side. |
