I brushed it off thinking it was just condensation since it was like 5 degrees out. I was wrong. I pull into work, park the car, and there's steam rising from the right side of the hood. I popped the hood and the f*ucking coolant reservoir tanks cap is sitting on the reservoir and the coolant is just boiling out of the tank.

So, I waited a few minutes for the boiling to stop and looked in the reservoir and there's no coolant. So, I ran to the closet BMW dealership got a gallon of coolant and distilled water and everything seems to be okay. Bled the system 3 times.

Luckily, my job is only 9 miles (one way) from home.

Took a dremel to the headlight housing today in order to get my led bulb to fit in the high beam slot. Only complaint other than tight fitment, theres plastic shards in the housing now lol. Shouldn't be too hard to get most of it out, or at least into the inside of the housing and away from view

I'm 75% sure the bulb locked into place completely. Only time will tell if I'm right

I went to Woodfield mall today (very popular mall in IL). Going to a wedding end of Feb so went to get some shirts and ties.

There's a BMW dealership close by (Patrick BMW). So, I decided to get an appraisal for my E90. I was curious to see what I'd get offered.

Got offered $7,000 PASS. My car runs drives and looks new. They would literally have nothing to do. Not even a detail Could easily sell it for $11k-$13k on their lot.

While the used car manager was looking at my E90, I test drove this fully loaded 2016 340. 36k miles priced at $33,400. The front bumper was replaced and the left side fender was repainted. Both the front bumper and passenger side fenders color matched 100% to the rest of the car. Love the color combo.

But, it looked like the front passenger side door was also repainted. It was a bit darker than the rest of the car. Could've been the shade of the car parked next to it

Might've pulled the trigger if I got close to $10k for mine and if I could've gotten the 340 for roughly $29k-$30k +TT. They took the 340 in on trade. Gave the guy probably $26k. Maybe more maybe less.

Posted screenshots of trade values. A lot of dealerships go based of off J.D. Power when it comes to trade-ins.

Ugly! Not even a sport package. Look at those bumpers and that steering wheel. They are hideous. But then again your E90 doesn’t have nice looking bumpers either. $7000 for yours is ok. It’s old and very ordinary. $33000 for theirs is too much. You can get G series for that price. I highly doubt respray to be 100% march. It’s impossible. Even from factory bumpers don’t match the fenders. Deferent material. Different paint. Different temperature and spray pattern while was repainted. Get it up on a lift under neon lights and you will see the ugly truth. All imperfections will be easily seen.

Installed the headlights today. Everything was going fairly smooth up until the very end

The bumper is fighting me going back on and I need to figure out how to adjust the gap between the lights and the fender. Not pretty. Also need to open the case on the passenger side as something is prohibiting the leveling motor from most of its movement.

I also can't get the euro coding to work?

Talking Valvetronic

Put in the base Valvetronic exhaust for the E92. Sounds amazing with everything else stock. Would recommend it if u have the money ($800ish) and still need a muffler.

I didn't want to make a whole thread about this; does idling on gravel make the idle feel smoother compared to if you're on cement/asphalt? Sometimes my n54 idle is so smooth I can't even tell the car is on, and I just realized the last time that happened I was on gravel.

Did dual outlet exhaust I had been planning and researching for over a year or two for my SCd n52. I hated the single side exhaust, IMO it looked so off balance. There were a few write up’s/posts which helped with my decisions. Most importantly to me was not loud, zero rasp and no drone. I was Looking to achieve a BMW factory type deep tone.
I’ll will be making a separate post but basically I swapped in the 335 trunk tray and modified 335 heat shields and moved the Evap canister a few inches forward. The plumbing was done with mandrel bent stainless 2-1/2”, into 4” APR tips. I used a magnaflow one in dual out mounted centered and horizontal in the style of e46/m3, different than most I’ve seen.
The sound is deep and clean.

Spent about 8 hours working out how to approach my base audio system in my latest purchase which is an E90, 320D, LCI.

Getting there but gosh it is complicated!

Technic PnP harness 4/6 RCA termination with a 6 Channel Class D amp of your choice and coding your head unit to Hifi is your best bet as far as simplicity and bang for you buck goes for amplificaiton.

Stock speakers are pretty terrible so at least the front and undersets should also be upgraded.

Don't think I would recommend it when coming from Base audio since it would be so invasive, but I was much happier with logic 7 than technic... could never get rid of an annoying whine with the technic / JBL system... I was coming from HiFi so it was just a matter of replacing the amp and harness, which I found at a junk yard for 50 bucks, plus the better speakers which the yard gave up for another 150 for the set of 10.

It's an SMG so you can wait for the pump to fail or just do a manual conversion.

Washed in touch less, new wash I found, still amazed how current this body style looks to me, especially for a 2007! Bought it 2009 and been so solid, soon 200k and been tuned for ever, supercharged last 5 years or so, and been perfectly reliable. Love it!

You paid for the lights to be modified and then modified them yourself?
Your bumper looks oem, pics of where you’re having trouble with bumper and motor?

As for the euro side to side movement, I recommend not doing it, if you haven’t already coded it.
Remember we talked about it a while ago and I got an error afterwards? Lol
Spent all day dealing with it.

Started off as an oil change. I figured let’s swap the smc module while the car is in the air.
Swapped 5 different SMC/AHL/AFS/Adaptive modules, whatever you want to call it.
Coded each one. Wrote the vin on each one, swapped left to right.
Didn’t get anywhere.
Finally factory coded the frm and up/down movement finally came back, but all coding options I had prior were gone. Coded AHL_2 Enable, still no side to side.

I restored the frm from the back up and then up/down stopped.
Looks like I need to factory code the frm and then code EVERY SINGLE OPTION I had changed in the frm.

Basically a 5hr oil change.

Serf27 yes and no. I ordered my LED bulbs for the flash to pass / high beam and the heat sink was just a little thicker than the opening so I fixed that. However the up-down leveling motor on the passenger side must have popped out of its socket. I've been trying to get it back in all day to no avail. And now the manual adjustment screw backed out too far and fell out so I have that to deal with

And yeah the bumper is oem, the ACS rep lip adds some weight to it. Doesnt make it an easy one man job lol
