Upon starting getting EVAP leak code again, just now stuffed an o-ring inside the inner fold of the gas cap's original seal, it made the seal fat and pliant. Time will tell if it will work, and for how long.

A year or two ago, when I had first gotten the gas cap leaking code, I had ordered replacement seal from amazon. That lasted couple of months before code came back. Then I reversed that replacement seal, which gave me more months. Then I used the original seal I had not thrown away, reversed. Gave me couple more months. I ain't ordering a new gas cap!

My Uncle's '00 Accord ended up stranded a few weeks ago. His fuel pump crapped out and it just encouraged me to upgrade mine before I end up on a flatbed myself. Grabbed a Stage 2 Fuel-It setup and attempted to install myself but, the top/lock ring was rusty as shit. Sprayed it down, tried tapping, banging, etc...ended up going to my "go-to" indy and they had to use an air chisel/impact to break it loose! Lol...

I got lucky on eBay for $300 oem. I’d been watching both eBay and Craigslist. (Try multiple searches with different wording.) Still a bit more than I’d like, but less than I’d seen. It looks new. It came with bag and install instructions (which are pretty awful diagrams and mid diagram laughably shows a random box sitting in the middle of backseat) once I ignored the instructions it was easy to put in. Works better than I expected.

Not bad, but yea price is up there for something like that.
Shame the previous owners didn’t leave it in the car!

Yeah, no such luck! Will be able to offset some cost selling the deflector from my e46. Previous owners did leave the empty packaging from the iPod cord though, lol!

Finally took the mostly fixed 325i on a backroad shakedown run.

1st I'll note, it doesn't have the steering feel that my e28's had. For that matter the e46 M3 didn't either. Those were glorious.

That aside, this car rides very smoothly. We have a ton of bump ridden backroads around here so it matters. I was very pleased with the grip the car had through the corners. I have some land nearby down a very winding and steep road and drove it out that way to test it out.

I have an 07' Mustang GT I built for track days but is still street legal. It's on 285's all the way around, full suspension upgrades, camber plates etc. Due to the pliability of the 325 suspension I'd say it's probably faster on the rougher back roads around here as the Mustang gets unsettled when the bumps get bad. Very impressed with the composure of the chassis.

Also finally had the confidence in the engine to run it to redline through a couple gears. Took me a minute to gain the confidence as this thing was running so poorly when we got it that I haven't trusted it till now. Not overly powerful but it moves well and pulls cleanly to redline. For a 16 year olds 1st car it is plenty.

I'd say I would be comfortable taking this car on a cross counry trip at the moment. There are still a few small concerns but overall it's proving to be a solid car.

Replaced front struts and rear shocks. Changed oil, spark plugs and got new rims and tires (glad to off the run flats). Finished too late at night to take pics, but they will follow. Will drive it a few days then take it for a alignment check.

Tedious task today.
Looking to see where my wiper fluid was leaking from.
I got the wheel and fender liner off and added fluid.
Of course, it didn’t leak. Now I’m thinking that as soon as it get it back together it will start leaking, oh well. I put the liner on with 1 screw and walk away. (Using reverse psychology on the car) and guess what! It starts leaking.

The pump had a tiny crack in it.

Took the top half of the auxiliary water pump off to find the brushes completely worn away in one side. Replacement brushes ordered. I'll refit and see what happens.

Tried to figure out why my angel eyes aren't coming on with my welcome lights. Coding is fine. Its on auto.. only thing I can think of is the hood switch being unplugged while the cowl is off

FRM II, they've worked as welcome lights up until recently (headlight swap) and I'm fairly certain they were working when I first tried them out. Its been sitting so long I can't remember.

And yep, retrofitted an OEM alarm years ago

Today was the first drive with fully rebuilt front end and new shocks/springs in the back. Got an alignment yesterday with -.7^ camber on it. DRIVES LIKE A DREAM! Wow. So nice. Goes exactly where I want it to, holds that line, and maybe just a little bit of oversteer now which feels nice. Just enough to feel a bit "whippy" which it didn't have before.

Final build for those following along from home is:
Koni sport active F&R
Stock BMW sport package springs
TRW M3 tension arm and wishbone
Lemforder sway bar links
Rein sway bar bushings

Didn't do the tie rod ends, and I'm going to ignore the rear for a while longer (forever?).

Random question but I just had the thought of how my ebrake is absolute garbage. I've tried adjusting it in the past without much success. If I remember correctly... There was no mechanism on the drivers side rear, only the passenger side. This is for a 330.

It’s more like what I found. I started to research e93 audio and went to look if there is an amp in the same location as e9x, and lo and behold, found a compartment I didn’t know I had, and it had the tool pouch! It only had the tow hook, but that was the only thing missing from the tools I have left from the e46. So that was all kinds of happy.

Also, in reading the limited speakers that fit these cars…whadda know I have a set of mb quart rvf 210 from the car before the e46 that will fit. Been sitting in their box in the garage because that car died right after putting them in, so I pulled them.

Now I have no idea if speakers sitting in the garage for like 15 yrs vs an air conditioned house are ok, but how odd I have something that actually would fit? Soon I’m going to need to ask questions over in audio, but I need to read more first. All those threads are above my pay grade.

Well, my fellow E90 folks. As the majority of you know, I sold my E90 at the beginning of this month to a fellow forum member.

Ended up buying a CPO 2019 540 (AWD) with 29k miles for 48k otd. $2k in BMW rebate and $2k in dealer discount.

It's very smooth compared to the E90. Steering feel is similar to the E90 when slapped in sports mode. I get much better fuel economy with the B58. Averaged 35 MPG on my way home from the dealer. Majority of the drive was city.

Didn't really plan on selling the E90 but the price I got for it, it was a no-brainer.

I've heard good things about the B58. Hopefully, it's as good as the N52 (or better) fingers crossed

I'll still be around in this forum.

Thank you! Plan to keep this for 10 years or so.

I would get 21 MPG city in the E90. Not bad but not 35 MPG
