Just a heads up, I was getting a slight rough idle i could detect more with my hand on the shifter (6mt) than anything in the cabin, but has been more frequent in recent weeks, its has 62K on it, and has had 3 HPFP's in its history, about every 15KM. I went into dealer to see if I needed a software upgrade for the idle, last one was Nov 2010, but they ran VIN and said its got a recall notice, so tomorrow it goes in the shop.

Oddly, as a second owner of the car and out of warranty, how is BMW contacting owners?

Lastly, if it needs injectors, I would think this should be on BMW dime, with 4 HPFP's to date, dont you think?

when you register the car or bring the car in for service they are notified that you are the new owner of the car. And if it is HPFP related they will cover it, but covering injectors i think you will have to pay for that

Correction, recall covers HPFP, Software and Injectors (based on date of mfg), not Solenoids..
