My driver rear caliper just started sticking. I noticed tons of heat coming off the wheel when getting groceries out of the back. I inspected it and it looks like the issue literally started from the grocery store. No abnormal wear, just a lot of heat.

Glad I caught it before it ruined my almost new pads and rotors! AutoZone is delivering a reman tomorrow. Just need to paint it, replace it, and bleed it, then I'm back on the road. I do have a broken bleeder screw on the passenger side so I'm going to replace that as well. I might just do a full brake bleed too.

What began as an attempt to install a used radiator fan from a wrecking yard, turned into the installation of the 2 brand new OEM DISA valves I've had here for a few weeks. I found out that a rad fan from an automatic will not plug and play into a manual car. My current fan's bearing is grinding away, so I still have no choice but to replace it, so i guess it will have to be a brand new one for stupid money...

At least I got rid of the low speed hesitation and small DISA error code, AND I was able to do the small DISA without removing the intake manifold.

I've also been chasing a intake VANOS code for weeks now. I grabbed a bunch of solenoids from wrecked cars at the yard. 2 of them were the new revision, and looked almost new, so I cleaned them up, and swapped them in. Damn code still showing... I'm HOPING it's a clogged non-return valve, because the other alternative is the friggin cam ledge nightmare... I'll be pulling the valves in the next little while.

AND, because BMW, I must have bumped or moved a vacuum line somewhere, because now I'm getting intermittent very hard brake pedal.

Otherwise, she's running like a champ! The new DISAs made a huge difference in power delivery, especially down low!

Cheers!

I too am in the midst of radiator drama. As mentioned previously, the small bib for expansion line coming off the upper hose snapped off on me, which necessitated a new hose, but then the radiator outlet broke off, necessitating a new radiator.

Install went really well until it didn't! Got everything buttoned up and started filling the reservoir, and coolant is running right back out. Presuming I need to swap out for a longer/shorter plug than what is there? More on that over here.

Also, need a little help with the hose coming off the bottom of the upper radiator hose. Looks like it goes to the firewall, so heater core hose? Anyway, it leaks at the junction of the new upper hose. This scares me as it looks like a bear to swap out. Any ideas or suggestions? Can I swap out the inner o-ring from the old hose as maybe that would fix it???? Incredibly frustrating as what was a simple little job looks like it's going to become a long drawn out and potentially expensive ordeal. /sigh

When I did my radiator I thought that one was leaking but it was just coming from the hoses above it. However I think you could maybe get away with removing the internal o ring and using one from one of the hoses you removed. I'm pretty sure it does indeed go to the firewall so probably not fun to change

^you can just replace that o ring.
But the o ring is in the hose that appears you didn’t replace. Mine started leaking from there last week. I just need to find a new o ring too…

Not e90 but on my e70:
Currently trying to get a heated, paddle shift and lane departure steering wheel working.
Not available from the factory.
Paddles and lane departure is working, heat is almost there, I think.

Put 380~ kilometers on it. We stopped at gas station to pee and we start the car. And ofc it can't stay trouble-free for a long.. Active steering fault - no power steering. Has happened 2 times before-
1st was on second driving session after alignment, a long driving session.
2nd was last summer on mountain roads in Portugal were was a terrible road pavement, a lot of potholes. In Netherlands roads are pretty much perfect.
And now the reason for it as i could try to link to - i hit a quite hard section on a bridge "connection".
Normally the fault went away after turning steering wheel couple times and driving a bit, then restarting the car. Now I didn't really had space in gas station and it didn't work. So i just continued on the highway and when i got a chance to stop at traffic light - restarted the car and it was good.

In 2 years and 36k km this problem has occurred 3 times now. The alignment was done shortly after purchase. 1x time each summer per-say. I was reading that alignement with active steering has to be done in special way by dealer. Mine was done by hunter i believe.. Steering wheel is not perfect straight as well, but really hard to tell that it's a bit off.

So came home and fired up ista. 63EC picture below, if somebody understands the details would appreciate being enlightened Battery voltage seems a bit suspicious. Not sure what is the reason why this happens, is it from improper alignment or changes in alignment due to hitting a pothole or something? Is it battery (which also was changed right after purchase by dealer) or some sensor, module?

And error 3104 stratified charge rough run came back as well First entry around 35 km on the highway cruising, followed by frequency of 60. I thought i got rid of it after updating dme, wasn't present for around 1.5k km, though haven't had longer than 15km highway drives. Well i slacked a bit and didn't reset adaptations after update so will give a try on that.

added a cheap boost gauge from amazon, works great, mounted in the ashtray, was a pain in the ass, i removed ashtray cover made a small through the back for the vacuum hose, also i put a single small ziptie to make sure it doesnt move at all, since i had yo custom made the install, it already had some small holes in back where astray small cover was, thats where i ran my wires, also wired the iluminated shiftknob, i grabbed the swiched power from a very very small light thats at the bottom of ashtray when you open the cover, i just cut it, shit was useless anyways, boostgauge did needed costant and switched power to change colors, i grabbed constant power from the gps controller everything works as it should except it does blink sometimes meaning is not getting a constant 12v, but only happens when i try to switch colors otherwise works fine. WHY MY PICS SIDEWAYS

Pretty sure it's from that lower hose junction... didn't have time to mess with it today, but will look into getting an O ring replacement. Fingers crossed that I'm not hosed on this!

Good luck w/ the steering wheel, will be nice when done!

Yea, when you remove hoses, the o rings that once sealed get loose or removal and sometime don’t seal again.

And thanks!

There was about 3-4 times where I had said it just would work. I’m happy to say I’ve figured it all out and have the first E70 wheel (afaik from what I’ve seen online) with paddle shifters, heat and lane departure.
I just need to transfer my Napa leather cover over to the new wheel and install it.

Ran rough this morning for 5mins. Whacked her in manual mode and gunned it. She's stable now. I'm thinking bad fuel cos my lil bro put Morrison E5 in it. I've filled her up with shell Vpower. A scan this evening showed a misfire in cylinders 1 & 2 this morning. Looks like it's a set of new injectors calling

I think that I'd wait on new injectors, the better gas may eliminate the problem. Why throw parts at it if it's not needed?

Drove it for the last time on stock turbos.

Starting to rip it apart today to put on the speedtech top mount with a VSRacing 6766 JB, phoenix racing PI manifold with 550cc injectors, & a motiv reflex lite PI controller.

& do some new coolant lines & oil pan gasket

I'm thinking this as well cos my old E90 did this and better gas mileage solved it. I gunned her in the back roads like I did this one today. She needs a good run to eliminate the possibility of carbon build up causing the judder - I could be wrong. Been doing lots of city driving lately. Took her out again tonight, whacked it in manual and let it shift by itself at high RPMs. A white 335i in front couldn't bear the thought of me passing him by and of course, it left me behind

Exactly. I'd also throw a bottle of Techron in it as well.

Some say it's snake oil, but its kept my index 7s running for 143K miles!

Pained and replaced both rear brake calipers, bled all four corners and re-ran the DSC adjustment procedure. Simple job! AutoZone has mad fast delivery on calipers. I got mine the next day.

Maybe, just maybe fixed. I checked two hardware and one autoparts store for O rings. Found some that were almost there, but visibly just a little small. Decided to try on and see if it works. Well, initial observation under no pressure other than system venting procedure is that we have a seal! Ran out of time today, so will run it with the engine on tomorrow and hope for the best! Also swapped out the short plug for the long plug on the aftercooler/passenger/exhaust side, and that seems to have fixed that problem as well!

Fingers crossed this works. The rest of the process was a pretty fun one I kinda' enjoyed!

Let me know if it seals and where you got it please!
I need it for mine too.
My o ring just randomly leaked though. Didn’t move it and saw it the other day.
It’s not bad, but it’s made a mess in the area.
