Just heard from Robb@cobb, they next release of maps will be modified throttle response maps . . .

I wish folks would stop bitching about stupid shit like throttle reponse and their 07s not working. Stage 2 is vastly more important . . . to me.

Proper lifting techs will keep you thinner, with a strong heart and higher metabolism than running.

thats assuming you run only the same amount as you would lift. many people who run for 2-3 hrs a day don't have an ounce of fat on them and don't spend any time in the gym lifting.

it's all relative. I do agree if you lift an hour vs. running an hour the lifting will be better in that respect. however 90 min of cardio a day has proven to be a very fast weight loss plan - most people just can't do it right away. Hell I even need to break it up into 2 45 min runs.

I prefer to mix both, I like running, not so much with lifting but I want to stay toned and strong so I do about 70/30 running vs lifting.

I went to caribou instead of starbucks today, a small coffee is like 15 cents more expensive and the lady told me to "have a nice life". Coffee is pretty good though.

Depends on what we define "lifting" as...

I rarely lift anymore in the old school sense. I do one day of true lifting now just because. I do alot more plyo pilates type stuff. Even when you lift it should have a cardio aspect...little rest between sets. As my one trainer says, if I can't kick your ass using just body weight, then I shouldn't be certified.

For example, tomorrow's routine...4 rounds (10 reps ea):

1. Band punches to exhaustion
2. Feet on stability ball/hands on ground - dropping one leg down and accross to other side while keeping core tight and hips elevated. Switch sides for legs to drop.
3. Chest presses (bar and up to 10 lbs on either side for a total of 65 lbs) with back on stability ball and on leg elevated
4. On leg on bosu, two hand gripping band and pull accross body 10-2. Switch sides.

Core and legs is where your true strength comes from.

It all depends on your goals. Mine is not to be a body builder...been there done that. I used to wear a 44 jacket. Too much stress on joints and not what I am trying to achieve. My goal is sleek and sneaky strong...more boxer/mma fighter build. Also, everybody's body responds differently so there is certainly no one best workout routine.

though I will say old school lifting - olympic movements is pretty good core muscle training. I enjoy a good squat or dead lift just as much as the next fella.

yea, I'll incorporate a deadlifting cycle now and then as well as cleans. Usually for deadlifts I add some stability component...ie one leg/arm with a kettle bell or on a bosu.

well gen mitchell is far superior airport...in and out is much quicker and parking is much cheaper. From Glenview, I can't imagine it takes that much longer to get to mitchell than o'hare (relative - meaning less than 30 mins -> its a decent trade off as you can get parked and through mitchell in more than 30 mins less than O'Hare).
