Needless to say, went for a long run. My wife has already been looking up home workout routines for us to do a leg day together this afternoon.

My gym is closed until the 1st....for now. I understand why but damn if this isn't inconvenient. I'm in the middle of a bulk and aside from a little belly fat I've picked up, I've been pleased with the progress.
I did buy and install a chin up bar 2 weeks ago so I'll be using the hell out of this thing for a couple of weeks. Anyone have any pointers on shoulder exercises for for a chin up bar. |

So I looked up some home work outs last night and came across a calisthenics channel on youtube. Have any of you guys tried this? Thoughts? Opinions?
I will, most likely, buy some parellettes and some other equipment in the next few days and try my hand at this. Below is one of the videos that has piqued my interest. |

I've used the principles in the past to break "sticking points" in the gym. Like on bench....pushing up on the bar in a rack where it won't move past a certain point. Stuff like that focusing on static contraction. I always came away sore from those types of workouts. I've seen these videos in the past. I think it's effective as some of the most effective exercises involve moving your body through space. That's been proven! Plus it really works your core.

The hoarders have made it to gym equipment now, at least here in Houston. Gyms here have to close tomorrow night so i had been lucky so far. Searched 4 stores before I could find dumbbells other than a scattering of random weights.

Ordered some parellettes yesterday and looking at buying some rings today. Did my first calisthenics workout last night and really enjoyed it. Got a way better workout in than what I expected. Buying the chin up bar was one of my better investments so far this year. |

Doing home workouts. Yesterday I did shoulders just using these dumbbells I bought for my kids a few years ago. Tonight I'm doing arms. Amazing what kind of movements you can do with just dumbells, pushups, tricep push ups and sitting tricep pushes
