Do you know if those little trap door flaps are sold? Mine is missing. I've poked around a little but haven't found a listing for one. NBD without out, just one of those little itches...

Replaced mine in a fit of OCD last year for $18. Costs way more now than piece of plastic should, but not a lot of money in absolute or relative terms. Still, for nearly $40, I would save your money.

Believe it or not, I still have my trap door after all those miles and years. The "screw" head on the latch has seen better days.

Come to think of it, 330k miles is only 30 some oil changes if the original owners went by the condition based maintenance program, then went 10k between changes after it clocked out. That latch is in awfully bad shape for only being used thirty times.

I'd like to find a 51757145287 radiator gasket but cant bring myself to spend $60+shipping for it. Replaced barely-there front under-aero tray with a rock auto Taiwan knockoff shortly after getting the car. It's held up well.

I just removed the plastic air deflectors in front of the rear tires as one of them started dragging. Yanked both because, you know, symmetry :P

Drove it back from the airport after it had sat for a week. Fired up immediately - new battery doing its job well indeed.

Replaced ignition coils - old ones were Delphis (silver one), new ones are Eldors from FCP Euro.
There’s a definite difference!

Oh, and cracked the windshield on the 528i. $400 for a new one - going with Climate Comfort glass.

I am going to need to find a new 'tension strut' for the rear. 51717160377

FCP has them for $150, which kinda seems like a good deal.

Mine is almost totally rusted through on the driver side. It's odd. The car has been really good resisting cancer. I'm still shocked at how clean everything is. But one small section of that particular piece has just dissolved.

Not sure how important it really is.... but it's substantial chunk of steel. I tend to think ze Germans put it there for a reason.

Grazie! For $18 I would consider it... for $40, nope. It'll be on my list for next time I go to the pick a part!

tcphoto I would suggest you get the m-tech that has the diffusor nozzl trim (as the call it on real oem)

I had the bumper you have in the pic from M0dbargain$, and trust me when i tell you, the one that has the diffusor trim looks way better. Makes the other one look very plain.

By the way, what is BSM?

Well, finally broke down and bought the alarm siren. Driving to NY in August and figured I'd better have an alarm installed…

Already have the ultrasonic sensor and hood switch, got the alarm for $59. Now I just need to find my jack for the install…

Thanks for the input, it appears that the diffusor is smooth. The color of my car is Black Sapphire Metallic.

Dealt with 12 years of scuff marks.

Just a little magic eraser, and 10 minutes later, it's almost good as new.

Replaced the 4 rear brake hoses, and hard lines on the subframe. Never fun faffing withe brake fluid, but parts of it could have gone waaay worse. Had a leak when I first tested them with the engine running, but tightening the flare nut some more seemed to solve it. I'll keep a close eye on it for a while...makes me nervous!

Took care of a few things today:
- oil change (FCPEuro replacement so bottled it up for shipping back)
- coolant change
- engine ground strap replace, old one was super green and crumbling (96k miles) - that was a pain in the ass job -

- best of all, I replaced the radio pixel display. Wasnt too hard. Amazon part for $85 and it looks like new again. It was barely visible in the summer heat lately.

Nice! Do you have a link for the radio display? All I'm seeing are full Android radios and not the simple display. Thanks!

Here you go!

I think it's a torx 8 or 10 for all the screws. The video above was very helpful but it wasnt exactly my radio but you get the idea. Just keep removing screws lol and remember where they went. And one small spot I had to solder to take the faceplate off and then solder it back on. If you get stuck let me know.

I'd totally screw something up. I was never very good at soldiering.

Thank you! I couldn't find it at all. My 330i is a 2005 build, so looks like this isn't the right option. Plus sold out currently. But glad to know there is a DIY fix floating around out there!

I would leave it black, I painted mine flat black, and cleared it.

Today I tried to fit a new obd cover from china but didn't fit so new one ordered . Then off to my mates garage to give her service . But on the way when I went over 40mph a loud knocking noise with vibrations I could here like a flat tyre so I stopped looked all round car but nothing got to garage then looked turns out my rear o/s calliper is sticking alloy was red hot so got to sort that now . But car now has had a full service so that's good 😀 got codes read nothing there inc start/stop malfunctioning so hopefully new battery will sort it.
