If you hold buttons (~3-4 secs) on your idrive, it will take you to main menu of that feature.

Actually, I think it will do the bigger increments but will not cross a speed ending in 0. So from 47 a big increment gets you to 50... not to 52.

It always snaps to the nearest 5 - 40+double detent up = 45. 46+double detent up = 50.

I've heard my volume go up automatically as the car speeds up but not consistently. In what situation does this always occur while increasing the speed tho?

If you have iDrive, you can adjust it in setting - volume.

That was the hardest adjustment for me when I first bought it; I have a habit of backing into parking spaces and I usually used my right mirror to gauge distance from the bumper to the wall/car behind me. But on the bright side, I never hit the curb parallel parking (not that I habitually do so, of course... It only happened twice in 5 years when I was beyond-words exhausted with my last car), and the only curb rash on my rims/tires happened before I owned the car.

I like this feature, but it only happens if you are in reverse, and going less than (something like) 10 mph, AND you have the mirror adjustment select-switch set to "Left Mirror".
So if you don't want the mirror to move, just put the select switch to the middle neutral or drivers mirror. (Pretty cool that they make it our choice, eh?)

I also like it that I can blast out my tunes coming home, but the next morning when I start it up, the stereo volume had been automatically reset back to a comfortable level.

Yeah I do too... Except now I use my left mirror to gauge distance (habit from my truck-driving days; for some reason it works better than physically turning back or even the center mirror for me)... But the right mirror down does ensure that I'm parked in a straight line even if people are parked crooked next to me (common sight in this Godforsaken town), so I usually still keep the feature on.

This is arguably one of the best "creature" features of this car. I use it all the time because I back into my garage every day, and real tight to the wall on the passenger side. I've been doing this ever since I became a parent 10 years ago... I've heard too many horror stories of people backing out of their garages and accidentally killing their own kids.

This way when I approach my house, I open the garage door and can survey the entire area before backing up.

Never used this - never wanted it - seems kind of pointless when the volume button is right where it's supposed to be on the steering wheel (on the left side so you can adjust it while shifting your proper MT as you approach/depart intersections). I'm perfectly capable of adjusting my own volume and wiper intermittent speed... although the latter power seems to have been taken away :/
