After getting the friendly 24 month CBS service light a few weeks back, I changed the brake fluid. Not my favorite job but it’s done. I used a hand vacuum pump. Starting at the right rear it took quite a bit of pumping but it was easier at each successive wheel the closer I got to the master cylinder. Dot 4. I reset the CBS and Im good to go.

Next is new AS tires and rear shocks on the e91. Either Michelin or Bridgestones. Bridgestones save $200 with Costco current promo thru Nov 20th.

Dpc2u, I appreciate the post and will have to get serious about trying it. BTW, I love the M5 and will attach a couple images from a BaT shoot I did last year.

Gorgeous pics! Since we are local to each other, I may have to reach out after winter for a shoot!

Yesterday I actually did get some coding done. Operator error before.
I can now see the CIC and CIC-GW modules in ISTA. Still haven't figured out how to reactivate the Nav but it will get figured out eventually.

So a recap. In the last week I've fixed the wipers, got the mirrors if not fixed, at least they are in the right place, and replaced the non-working CCC with a working CIC.

I still have to replace the drivers side DRL and that's the last "error" that shows up in the warning system.

You're going to want to update the VIN on the CIC if you haven't done so already, then need to activate the map and update the FSCs, that's why the nav is disabled...

Here's the DIY I followed a couple years back when I did mine. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1461515
And the steps for installing the FSCs: https://admin.ecommerce.aruba.it/Web..._fsc_Ex_en.pdf

well , on a heavy swirled/scratched paint you can achieve it with a polisher only.

Wet sanding it's simply faster, at the end it does the same thing : remove a thin damaged clear coat layer.

Sanding I don't really like since it's less permissive. I only use it on plastic parts : bumpers, headlight, skirts.

On paint, 3 step polish, with 3 step Menzerna compound. A heavy damaged clear coat can take me up to 7-8 hours to complete a sedan car. I dont do mid level pad, only the calssic; yellow, white, blue.
I also use a portercable orbital polisher, using a rotative one , its faster, but once again, less permissive.

It was a gorgeous day so I took it out for probably its last run before going into winter storage and had some fun. I exercised its turbos and steering. Oh and I also managed to get a fair amount of brake dust on the wheels.

I failed my track day tech inspection

1) Need a new driver's side rear driveshaft
2) Need a new serpentine belt
3) Have some wire loom issues with tail lights.

Time to spend money at FCP euro. I'm not looking forward to doing the axle job. I AM otherwise pleased after letting someone other than myself look at the car and seeing that it is in overall great shape. It was good to get under it on the lift and really look around.

I DID score a set of MILVs this week as well (note: marty has some back in stock for now) so I'll be teeting up a valve cover replacement for doing the MILVs install.

After that, I think I'm going to order the ESS supercharger.

Do it, you will like it. Just assure to go a smaller pulley meth/or IC and custom tune… otherwise you are leaving 125+ HP on the table. Had mine for 5 years I think, been super solid and made car even more enjoyable.

Awesome. I'd love to pick your brain on it. I like the idea of running it intercooled. I'm not reaching for crazy boost, just want more juice!

Who did your tune? Are you using ESS'?

Anytime pm and we sync up… I am old so phone works too! I did water meth, and 22 RPD is shop for tuning and sone mods and very strong on the computer/tuning side. I kept my rev limit and landed at 400 WHP, and runs like a dream. Anyone can crank up the rpm's and show high numbers but I like stuff to last and as it sits perfect as daily, and if I road-trip I am in the 32mpg territory. Cheers

P.s I think they have a blog post of my car, and so different than ESS setup only… 273 WHP I think is where I started.

Sure thing, any of them. Best solution in end is to run 335 Intake manifold (n54). But I ran 3 stage for a long time too and ok, just more chance for issues, and 10 or so less HP, if you utilize it fully.

Thats exactly, to the T, what I want out of my car. Reliability, family and all. How much are you into it (engine/tuning wise) if you don't mind me asking

A bit, not sure, but for what it is today I think I am ahead as it sits with current setup w suspension, brakes, lighting upgrades (full LED minus high/low). Also had to modify exhaust for more flow w/ headers + vibrant resonators and 3" DIA after resonators + Custom Y hence no off the shelf would fit. Also changed sone handling components and some cosmetic upgrades. For an 07 I could not be happier with it, and sounds great!

Thanks. I had found the DIY but the steps for installing the FSC are new to me.

Question. How exactly do you activate the map?

My car originally had the CCC professional and the new CIC is also the professional. Is there a code or something that needs to be changed to activate the map?

Appreciate the help.
