Yep, that's why she gets away with a lot. She's so cute that we have a hard time disciplining her. And, she knows it.

Samoyeds are not for everyone, but they are great dogs. We characterize them as half wolf & half Golden Retriever.

Never heard of that. We know some breeders who use different colors of nail polish or markers to distinguish puppies. We prefer the collars because we can put them on as soon as the puppies are born. The collars are Velcro strips that we can adjust as the puppies grow. Works like a charm and we don't have to worry about the colors washing off.

That photo was taken after momma - Faith - whelped the puppies. It definitely wore her out. Although, she only had 4 puppies with this litter. The last one was 7 puppies. She was constantly worn out from that batch.

But, she is a wonderful momma and really cares for her puppies. She's also very protective and won't let our other dogs near them.

Wait - what's the story here? The owners just abandoned their dog after 9 years because they decided to move? They couldn't bring him / her?

That's fricking heartless if so. Poor dog. Hope he gets better owners next time around, for his / her last few years.

Pets should be considered family, imo. You wouldn't just leave your family. I understand if you have military orders or what not, but then again you would think a family member would step in and foster. I guess not everyone thinks the way I do.

People are terrible.

We stayed during Katrina because we weren't going to leave our horses behind. The number of people down here who left their pets and evacuated makes me sick. I'm not saying this is the case, but it might as well be.

Omg how adorable! People are the absolute worst. About 2 years ago around Christmas I lost my lab I had for almost 13 years and it crushed me. How can someone have a dog for 9 years and just abandon it

I'm not sure of the whole story. When Sara mentioned she was looking for an older lab I reached out to her & told her I would contact the adoption coordinator I worked with to adopt Luca. He text me last night and asked if she was still looking. He said he came across this lab whose family is giving up on him because they're moving. I don't have anymore details as of yet on what's going on.

Agreed. I grew up on a farm and you learn early that life can be cheap at times, but once you have that bond it is hard to imagine just walking away.

Some spend thousands trying to squeeze another year out of a pet (guilty) and some will leave them in a 200 degree car while they go get ice cream. Go figure.

As a crusty old coworker used to tell me weekly - "Ain't nothin worse than people". #spoton

I'm 22 years into ownership of a 29 year old horse. I can't imagine just walking away from her. I'll probably be one of those who spends whatever it takes to keep her here with me, but she's "healthy as a horse" for the time being. I can't imagine my life without her. Don't even want to think about it.
