Rear Fog lights.

Also useful when being tailgated and you want to freak out the idiot behind you.
They are bright and to the untrained eye look just like you stomped on the brakes.
Did you buy the car used? If so, it seems the previous owner did a little mod to the fog light switch that enables the rear fog lights. That is standard on the Euro models but not on the US models. You either replace the switch itself, or do a little DIY to remove some plastic that prevents that button from working on the US models. I haven't done that yet with mine.

+1, did that mod myself too. I've found it useful, but ultimately probably not THAT useful. I use it for signaling other drivers, since the fog is rarely so thick where I drive that they're necessary for visibility.

Of course, those other drivers almost certainly have no clue what I'm getting at. Mostly I just don't like buttons that could work but don't.

I have mine programmed with Carly to turn them on with the welcome lights. Those rear fogs are BRIGHT indeed.

It took me 2 weeks to read this entire thread since I only read it at work. I want to thank all that added their 2 cents. It was very helpful.

Just noticed that, if on, the fog lights automatically turn off when the high beams are turned on. When the high beams are turned off, the fog lights come back on automatically (if they were already on previously).

The reset button on the A/C when pressed after the car is off will use residual heat from the engine to keep the car warm. It really helps out in the winter when you have to make a 20-30 min stop inside a place.
RES button eliminated in the 2011 model year, and is 'All' (left temp control alters both driver and passenger side settings)

If you have HIDs the fog lights remain on when the headlights aew switched to highbeam.

Unless you code it so they're always on

To add to the list:

- Mirrors can fold in on lock
- Windows can be set to close with fob/CA instead of open
- There is a UK English iDrive voice
- NOAA Weather band radio is an accessible option
- The OBC has a velocity display
- Some later 3-series can have HP & torque graphs in iDrive
- The doors can be set to automatically unlock after the engine is shut off
- The key fob can be set to automatically eject after the engine is shut off
- The OBC has 3 levels of headlight sensitivity that you can adjust
- There is a 2nd threshold of adaptive brake force display that flashes the brake lights when ABS is activated
- The car can be classified as a police vehicle. I don't know what this does.
- Oil change intervals can be automatically set to 7,500 & 10,000 miles instead of 15,000
- The wipers can be set to fully complete their wipe and return to the park position if you lock the car and they're mid-wipe
- N55 vehicles can get the Performance Power Kit flash for free

I've tried using them as a signal "hey, dick behind me, your brights are on" but it hasn't worked yet

Id like to know how to do all of this. I now have a list to search for.

Small rocks get trapped in the rear control arms at the lower shock mount.

I believe he was referring to coding possibilities, not options found in the manual.
