Yes, let's face it, it's the Aztek of sport coupes. Of course, this is coming from somebody that bought an A90 Supra, so my taste is suspect anyway.

You’re entitled to your opinion, even if it’s outrageous. But most people don’t agree with you, and I don’t agree with you.

Have fun with the BMW BRZ
Comments like these are so unnecessary.

I am all for one giving their opinion. There are ways of doing so without being a tool. Also, was there any good reason for him to attack his business and products???

Having an opinion you don’t like = /= attacking you as a person.

I think it’s ugly, and I stand by that statement. I’ve seen it in person, and it looks bulbous and fat, the taillights are too small and the front end looks like a BRZ.

Sure it’s fast, but that doesn’t take away that it looks terrible. The F22 reminds me of the E46 M3. I don’t know what this is trying to be, but I don’t care for it.

If this shop is going to modify the car, maybe they can look into the cooling system. From what I’ve seen with the B series engines, the water to air intercooler just can’t keep up with the higher power levels, and you get one or two good runs before they overheat.

So much for running down us peasants in our M235

So if the peasants don't like the new King, they should hang around with the peasants that like the old King.

There is always one in life and that's all there is to say really 😂

If anybody here doesn't like the look of the G42 and they prefer the F22 then maybe they should just stay on the F22 sub section , just saying 🤷🏽*♂️😂

The spec
- Brooklyn Grey Paint
- Cognac Leather interior
- 19" 893 M Double-spoke Bicolour Alloy
- M Adaptive Suspension
- M Sport Brakes with Red Callipers
- Technology Pack

The M240i didn’t receive the best of reactions when images were first released and to be completely honest, we weren’t in love with the car either until we saw it in the flesh. It’s been involved in controversy since day one but with the right mods, we think this car has the potential to turn heads for all the right reasons.

Being the first brand new car that we have brought as a company, it was a special day for us going to pick it up. Tony Lewis (@trldeals) made it even better, giving us the special treatment down at BMW Croydon - a big thank you to him and the rest of the team. Watch our first impressions and first drive video here:

Our MD Jack drove it back to AUTOID HQ where it was put straight on our ramp, you didn’t think we’d buy a car and leave it stock for longer than 24 hours did you?
Congrats Jack, and nice to meet you at C&M the other day.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with for the G42 👍

Just because it’s new, doesn’t mean it’s good. I’m sure the shop is going to add a bunch of overpriced carbon fiber crap and then say they ‘modified’ it
This guy sounds like a new Golf R buyer that just paid $10K over sticker and then realizes he could've had a new M240i instead at MSRP.

AmuroRay, what's your take on the current M3/4? Hideous? Fantastic?
I think BMW's design goals in recent years include being polarizing and controversial. Hence the monster grills on the X7, the M3/4s front and the G42's departure from the F22's more harmonious lines. Probably other examples too.
I fell in love with BMW's performance, esthetics were always a second consideration. Yeah, she's a lil' bit ugly in some ways to me. I'm not that good looking either.

This thread took a turn

Look, the cars not for everyone - we get that. We're here to improve that and help the car reach its potential.

Having lived with the car for nearly a week now, I actually think the rear looks mega. Especially directly from behind. The front looks actually needs a splitter to look properly proportioned.

It won't be about just sticking parts on here and there, its going to be a combination of subtle tweaks that will make this car look mega.

There's always resistance when there's a major overhaul of prev/outdated designs, especially by owners of said outdated vehicles (AmuroRay).

This is the new direction BMW is going and has pretty much become the norm already (G80 was despised originally).

Regardless, we should be able to appreciate and admire all model years. Hopefully some are able to set their jealously aside.

Why would I be jealous? The same drivetrain can be found in a lighter and better looking package. But I prefer the N55, the ATW cooling system in the B58 actually is pretty terrible.

Whatever tech garbage you’re going to counter with doesn’t matter either, I just hook my IPhone up to it. AWD? I live in FL and BMWs AWD systems have never been great.

It just a ounds to me that some people base their self worth on the products they own. It’s an ugly car, this shop is going to TRY to make it ‘less ugly’ (can’t do much about that frumpy side profile and ugly rear end though)

If you like it, that’s fine. But don’t attack me personally.

BMW was at their peak in the early 2000s. The E46 was absolutely better in every why than the outgoing E36, and the M3 was a truely unique car. I think they said only 6% of the parts were shared with the regular 3 series, including the dash, and door panel.

I get they wanted to make the M distinct, but how do go from a proper GT car with a torquey high reving engine to an overweight 1972 GTO clone? And why does the dumb electric model have the same grill as the M series and not the Standard 3 series?

It’s front end is too big and wide, but a lot of that is to do with the European crash standards that mandate the front end high up. The Air to Water IC system just seems like a problem waiting to happen - and there is so much ‘tech’ in the car just for the sake it just existing, but none of it matters. It’s heavy. I think closer to 4000lbs, and a E46 ( I know, 20 years old at this point) was 3300.

All in all, I see BMW chasing Tesla and trying to be an Audi clone, and have since lost being an ‘engineering’ company. The M just stands for ///Marketing now.
