brake boost!

Brake boost.. all I have to say is that for those with 335i's you should try it if you already haven't tried! it'll make you jibber .....

EDIT------------------
ok after posting I was thinking.. what if they dont know what brake boost is?? its simple brake boosting is braking while your car is in motion ((braking about half way) WARNING** this will wear out your brake pads REAL QUICKLY), reving your engine at about 4-5k RPM, this is to spool your turbo(s).. once the turbo(s) are fully spooled then you let go of the brake and you take off like a rocket... only turbo'ed cars can brake boost because well.. you get the point... but here is a vid for those that need a visual. the White STI is the one brake boosting... enjoy! and please be responsible drivers and practice on a safe road that you are familiar with

Most retarded thing ever. OP would probably do a neutral drop if they had a slushbox.

why is this retarded? brake boosting is one of the main advantages in turbo cars esp. on highways i.e. if you were to race that is.. neutral drop??? wtf

I think you need to take a step back and learn about your car. Peak tq happens around 1800rpm, not 4-5k rpm. Thats not even where peak hp is either. Instead of destroying your brakes, how about you destroy your clutch and just dump that at 4k rather than stepping on the brakes(which is counter productive being that BMW brakes are fantastic and will actually stop you when pressed halfway).

Secondly, youre apparently very young if you dont know what a neutral drop is.

sounds a bit silly, if your racing from a rolling start you better of jus tin a high gear revving, holding the brake is no good, your friends may get half second head start etc

i understand that the car follows through 300tq around 1800rpm which is very very good.. BUT if you know anything about turboed cars.. then you would know that the turbo(s) need to be spooled in order to achieve maximum power... PLEASE correct me if im wrong. and btw yes, im 19

umm... this is actually a very common strategy for racers going around corners, its kind of dumb to do in a straight line though which i think hes suggesting

he mentioned about are turbos spoiling at such a low rpms probably to indicate that they spool in all of about 2 seconds, this technique is better for more laggy cars, could still shave some time off, but it is kind of dumb to use in a straight line...

no just applying throttle lightly to hold boost while braking, unless thats what that is, but that just sounds like a fancy name for drifting

How about just shift into 2-3 gear and have you rpms high before you take off, no need to use brakes

everybody's gotta hate. I would never do this to my car. I don't even have to watch the video to know this, but I'm not hating either. Bunch of spazzes around here that live to put people down. That is why this forum is going to shit.

probably because that wont spool the turbos, he was talking about racing on the highway i guess, before you hit the throttle even if your at 5k you wont be boosting all the way, but in that situation youll have ful boost in all of 2 seconds which makes this kinda dumb
