LCI Paddle Shifters wire connector disconnect

Okay... so I don't want to break this but I am having trouble pulling out this red wire connector that goes into the buttons from my LCI shifters. I am working on the retrofit and need to do some soldering

Is there a way to release it without forcing it? I was thinking of jamming a screwdriver in there. Tried some pliers lightly... no dice

Advice from someone in the know?

Well I finally got it with a bit more force and some needle nose pliers if anyone else has troubles.

It is way easier if you remove the trim from the wheel. Three screws behind the wheel. I think T12? Definitely T's if my memory of the size is wrong. Anyway, much simpler to mess with the wiring if you have the trim off.

For future reference, I used a microfiber towel or really any thin towel and pliers. That's it.

It may have been easier to remove the trim but I ended up getting it done without doing that.

Maybe you guys know how to get the little connector open so the wire can be moved as the instructions on burger motorsports website. I’m afraid I am going to break it from lack of knowledge. It’s the last step!

I got it!

Paddles are done, now I need to do the harness. That’s tonight then wheel goes on!

I have done this mod. It was totally worth the effort.

I got it done! Works great. Feels like a diff car with new wheel and shifters
