install custom widebody or just add m3 quarter panels? also need a shop near LA
Long time lurker, first time poster. A bouncer dropped a guy on my passenger side rear quarter panel right along the body line last year and I'd been putting off fixing it until I could find a widebody kit I really liked. So far, I'm not really impressed with the various offerings. But since MFest is fast approaching I have decided to either throw on some M3 Fenders in the rear or add some fender flares that are slightly wider than the M3's. I plan on adding all the other M3 bits later or if I can find one thats not too ridiculous a full widebody kit. But for now, I just need to know which would be cheaper and a body shop in the LA area that can be trusted with this sort of custom work. Thanks!

Any good body shop should be able to do this..but most will be too scared to touch it for obvious reasons...

im also researching this option and i have the front fender figured out without m3 conversion. I can easily fit OEM m3 fitment wheels without rubbing what so ever same with the rears but want to go wider so i can fit m3 aggressive fitments. Thus far, one person who can do this job clean is JImmy from Royal Mufflers. I saw his wide body on teh x3 and just sick. Let me know see if we talk to him on modding for the wide body see what kind of a deal he can give us.

rear bumper
does m3 have an mtech rear bumper? just curious if you stretch the plastic of your oem mtech from 335 or plastic weld the m3 line to it? What fitment of wheels do you use now to maximize the mod? just curious if its worth using m3 oem or custom bc i can fit oem m3 wheels now and i believe i have maxed out the pull and roll i can get out of my rear quarter.
Also, you didn t the front? just curious why didn you do the fronts bc thats the front is the one im having issues on rubbing compared to my rears. |

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm curious about how you blended between the Mtech bumper and the M3 fenders as well Creaminz.

A bumper that is OEM urethane won't "break" if its heated up properly. Worse case scenario is that it will melt .

So the complete parts list for conversion would be:
left/right rear side panels rear bumper skin left/right Wheel-house inner panels Any missing bits?? I want to get these parts ordered and the project rolling, my new wheels have been watching me sleep. 0_0 |

Unless the car is regularly tracked and actually has something to gain from a widebody kit, don't bother.
