Liquids with your meals

So, what do you normally drink with your meals?

Breakfast, I normally have a few cups of (decaf) coffee. After that, I'm at a loss nutritionally for what I should drink.

I know I need to get away from those diet/caffeine-free sodas I have with lunch, but water just doesn't seem like enough. I don't want to add a bunch of sugars with juice.

Dinner is normally accompanied by a big cold glass of whole milk.

Actually nutritionally, and in general, good mineral water is all we need to drink. But it's boring. As long as you drink some of it every day you can drink with your meals whatever want... whatever it is it is unnecessary as you get your water and salts and minerals and electrolytes from mineral water. Of course some fizzy drinks are more unhealthy than others but I am not going to touch that subject as there is way too much misinformation about it to have a rational discussion. I personally try to drink at least one litre of mineral water a day but doesn't always happen. Mostly I drink black tea with a generous amount of sugar.

Decaffeinated green matcha tea with local honey. I make mine via sun. I will boil the spring water when it gets to cool out and also drink it hot. I use Celestial but it's caffeinated. It should be green when brewed. If not, it's cheap and does not have near the health benefits.

Green tea contains very little caffeine btw.

Someone mentioned booch. I bought two cases and noticed no improved energy and what not. Even flavored, it is not tasty.

Raw whole milk ftw...if you can get it. Talk about energy boost.

I like La Croix. Lately I've been hooked on the coconut flavor. No after taste, no sweeteners.

Nice strong coffee in the morning, and usually a few Yetis full of (hot) tea throughout the day. I buy different flavors so I don't get tired of drinking the same thing. Water's boring, so I buy these flavor droppers at the supermarket and that makes me drink the water I probably should be drinking.

Any more, beer just gives me a headache and gas

See, I'd forgotten about teas. I love me some Rooibos tea!!! Time to refresh the stock.

Mineral water is a good switch up too, as it's more than water and has some flavor.

I keep seeing those LaCroix in the store but haven't tried one yet. The BaiBai cocnut is pretty tasty, but also pricey. When I can't find it in packages of more than 4, I know the price point is an issue.

I have been trying to cut out carbonated drinks like cola/sprite/etc and I found that switching to something with no sugar like perrier or pellegrino works for me. I still get the bubbles that I crave without the sugar and calories

I went thru a couple cases of those nifty little green Perrier cans last year. Now there is a partially open case that's been in the shed for about 5 months. I see it every time I go out there to make a selection, and just don't reach into that any more.

I drink a lot of herbal teas. Hibiscus, chamomile, etc. super healthy and cheap if you buy loose leaf in bulk.
