It will be an unpopular statement, but I really don’t understand the hate the cars get aesthetically… I really like the lines

Those look like the (heavy) stock cast wheels on the base G87. What exactly are they testing here if they’re excluding one of the key areas for improvement on the CS model? xDrive?

Why bother with all the camo? It's the same car isn't it?

At least it’s a properly lowered suspension
This is how they attract a swarm of spy photographers

We are pretty certain this is not a competition model anymore right? (From which ever interview with M saying there’s no reason for Comp for the G87?)
I remember last gen when the M2 comp were testing people all initially thought it’s the CS… (Testing CS with the base cast wheel is certainly interesting… ) |

Wait, what? Didn't the regular M2 just come out?
I've made this point before, but why not release the best version of a model you have and stamp it as such. The last car they did this with was the e60 M5. No competition package nonsense, variable model names, etc. |

Nobody buys the CS variants because they are too special, cost too much. I sure wouldn’t buy a 120k M2. More power to those that will. They will be a limited bunch. |

What a pathetic effort if it is indeed the M2 CS. Almost nothing different outside over stock. A stupid front lip and ducktail isn’t enough. The last CS stood out from the base more. They will probably amp up the HP with a tune and call it a day. Interior will come with a little more lipstick, but don’t expect too many changes. Wheel choice are mystery, but perplexing customers seems to be the modis operandi at BMW. Losing interest in the brand one lazy effort at a time.

I don’t think a 6MT will be offered. I’ll hold any comments on aesthetics until I see a more finished product. |
