Gripes redux? Cruise control and Sport Mode

Today I finally used cruise control for the first time, it kicked me out of Sport mode. Putting the car back into Sport mode cancelled the CC.

Are these two things actually incompatible or is my car just being a little weird?

Nope it's dumb and definitely a gripe. My guess is they want us to have all the nannies in cruise control.

Cruise control should work in any mode.

When you say “Sport Mode”, what are you referring to?

Correct, it knocks me out of sports mode so that it engages the lane control etc... it's not a deal breaker but just something I noticed in cruise control.

Yeah, the technical term BMW uses for the screen displays is "mode," and they call the other things "setups."

So Sport and Track are "modes", while Engine Sport+ is a "setup" or "setting." Shrug.

Also, another note on Cruise Control, it's quite aggressive. It accelerates and engine brakes more than expected to get to the target speed.

I try to be a smooth driver. When I was messing with CC, my wife started complaining. "Why are you driving all jerky?" It wasn't me, it was the CC!

depends on how you are using the cc, if you are on the closest range the entire time it will get you up to speed faster especially if your cc is set to say something like 80mph. you should modulate the ranges yourself, like if i know i'm coming to a stop i turn it to 2 and then back to 1 as i slow down

Hmm, this sounds like you are talking about dynamic CC (MTs do not have that option, so I know nothing about it.) I'm just talking about bog standard CC.
