Concensus of receiving orders

Hi all! I have an allocation date for next week. Just curious what everyone has been seeing for receiving car on time, production queue holds/shipping issues etc. In a perfect world I'd love to see the car by the end of the year. I'm on the east coast btw, m240 as well. Thanks in advance!

I would think it will be closer to 8-12 weeks. That's my guess being the holidays plus possible Covid surge/shutdowns and the existing parts shortages that aren't going away any time soon

I may be a different case because I ordered pre release (sept 19), but it took about a month for it to get to "at port" (in Mexico). It stayed there for about 3 weeks and then arrived at the dealership 5 days before release (11/20).

How long after your allocation date/production week was that?

Picked up November 12th.

Car came into Brunswick and was trucked to Greenville, SC.

Jeeez, that would be super best case! I wonder since you ordered prior to, if that helped a bunch? I'm hoping production starts tomorrow or Tuesday for me. And port time isn't held up too much up the coast.

I ordered mine 9/15 and it got to the port last Friday/Saturday. It said it was in transit to the dealer for all of last week but my CA said it was still on the boat TO the port. I’m hoping to see it this week, I’m in Boston so usually two day wait, but I have to wait for them to install my carbon interior. So it may push it into December so still, if it comes before 12/15 it will be under 3 months and if you’ve read any of the other threads, the Glovis Spirit has been garbage.

I have no clue. Unfortunately, I wasn't provided a production number and I didn't know I could track mine until I joined the forum in mid October.

I ended up asking my CA for a production number/vin and at that point my car was dispatched from the factory.

I put down a deposit for an incoming car which was ordered on september 1st. They finished production on November 2nd and its been stuck on "Final Assmebly" for the past two weeks. I have no other information from my sales assistant or from BMW Genius.

I received a build number on October 25. According to the BMW Genius line, my build was originally scheduled for week 44, then it was pushed out to week 47, which, according to my calendar, is this coming week. I'm not optimistic.

Do you know the carbon trim part number or is it the same as the 3 series one? The German link seems to show it as the same part as 3/4 series.

Also curious about this. I want the carbon trim for sure. Gloss black is just not it.

Garage List
My car was built on time, then sat at the plant for 2 weeks before being sent to port and shipped. It arrived in GA on time but has since sat in the port for 2 weeks now with no status updates.

Spoke with BMW Genius again. My m240i build production has been pushed to week 49 (originally week 44, then 47). Oh well. Better later with all the options I requested than sooner without them.
