People's thoughts on M Performance Carbon kit

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi, my M240i is due to be delivered next month, and I'm debating putting some M Performance Carbon parts on it. Was looking specifically at rear wing and front splitter, but unsure about side blades. My sales guy has got back to me with a price, and they can include blades for extra £500 fitted. Thoughts?

I took some M Performance carbon parts, but I didn't take side blades, as I found it not so important.
Front attachement and rear spoiler was a must for me, because this parts really change how car looks like.

I also took some carbon parts for the interior, so in next 2 weeks I'll be able to answer on some questions.

Are you in the UK? If so, do you mind if I ask how much the carbon interior was?

I'm from Poland. For the interior I took:

- carbon trim to replace glossy black
- carbon gear lever
- carbon shift paddles
- m performance steering wheel with carbon trim and alcantara

And I paid 2500 euros without assembly cost.

That's going to look amazing.

I was tempted to go for the blades, but I’m not sure they stand out with the black side skirt. I like the idea of the carbon error, believe that’s £800, which is more than I’m happy to pay personally. I really like the idea of the front splitter though

I think about this often. This is the thing: I don't think carbon would look good unless one goes ALL OUT. The thing that bugs me the most about the G42 is the glossy black rear diffuser and side skits. The are going to get dirty easy (or rather, show dirt more) and they are going to show scratches— especially the side skirts. But if you get one element with carbon, the glossy bits that remain will seem out of place. SOME element in that scenario will look out of place and dare I say— ricey.

My M240 will be here, God willing, in a week or so. I didn't spring for carbon goodies, but I wish I did. Money was the issue. My build is maxed out. The car I got is as much as I can afford. What would all the exterior carbon add-ons cost altogether? Lots, I think.

Edit: as far as interior goes, I think it depends entirely upon what you've selected for upholstery. I got Thundernight Metallic with black vernasca. Gotta go with aluminum trim to lighten it up. Carbon would be nice otherwise.

I definitely think I'm going to get the carbon interior trim at some point. Once I know when my build is going to be, I'll talk to my dealer about having it installed at the port.

I like the idea of getting carbon interior, but hasn't been mentioned as an option yet. Also interested in getting 20's for it, but they're £4400, so may have to wait a bit.

CF interior is not a port option anymore in USA. Not sure about other markets.

I specifically didn't get any of the M performance parts because I was really worried about delaying my car delivery. I might add the interior carbon package later though.. The pictures that I have seen in this forum look amazing.

We've fitted a few now and I am impressed with the kit.

Would say that the diffuser could be a little better. Spoiler is impressive for non-aftermarket.

Have some customers not bothered with the side blades, and just gone for splitter and rear wing?
