I reached out to the M Performance Center (MPC) directly. Provided my VIN to them, which they had to check with my purchase order. Two days later they called me back to schedule the days. You do not have to wait for your sales person. Their number is 888-868-7269.

The way they explained it to us at the MPC is by using a chart similar to:

You can. As I understand, you can use the 1-day M school to get $1700 credit for another school.

This is really interesting. Seems like getting used to sport with linear response and always using that would be the way to go.

For me, the comfort setting works well during city and urban driving. On the interstates and track the Sport setting is the way to go, but while autoxing Sport+ is my go-to setting.

I am glad that BMW gives us these options

I used to Sport+ all the way for the "sportiness" but after a few track days I dialed it back to Sport. It's just easier to modulate without upsetting the car. I also see people track with Comfort/Efficient Engine mode for finer control. Have not tracked the M2 yet. The break-in period is too long..

I recommend you try to schedule between November-March, once you hit April it gets pretty scorching hot out in the desert. Not the most ideal for a track day.

You also have to get to the track by 6:15 am because programs start at 6:30, F that. Fall/Winter is perfect. Shit weather everywhere else in the country, 75 degrees in the desert.

The problem for me is that i live in NorCal and so Palm Springs is quite the detour for me and will need to book time to do it which wont happen in 2024 unfortunately. I would love to do it though as i did do the Porsche Delivery Experience when i bought my GT4 and i basically told myself that if a car company offers something similar i would do it.

I'm scheduled for Thermal, California in late May.

Using my one day M Package for the track day, and then have the standard 2 hour driving school scheduled for the next morning.

I'll do a couple track days at Portland International Raceway ahead of it with my car.

Can't wait!

Here's my last PIR track day.

Avoid summer months. That was my mistake.

I was thinking about signing up for the January spots in Thermal (I live about 2 hours away). Do you know if all the cars you drove were standard to the M Perfeomance school, or do they rotate cars? I have heard of people driving everything from F87’s to G82’s. I also read that they use the M5c for drifting course?

I really dont mind what I drive, just curious about it. Do the instructors care about how hard you push their cars?

Thanks!
I ordered all the carbon but the seats too. I need to do the track day.

Is it already programmed in the car from the get go or done during break-in service? I just had my break-in service and no mention of the update only of the fluids changed.
And no I don’t want to find out in real life I just want to get what I paid for, lol.

I dunno. I paid for the option. Assume it’s available from the factory and programmed into the ECU. I have no idea if the dealer can add it in, but assume it’s probably possible. I got it for resale, not because I’m driving that fast. I appreciate Porsche doesn’t do this for the most part especially when they charge you for everything else. Please don’t tell them.

Yes, it's preprogrammed when the car is built. Cars without the package top out at 155, cars with the package top out at 177. Though I hear normally it's a bit north of 155 so I would assume the Drivers package cars top out at 180ish.

Both, in a way.

It’s already programmed in the car from factory, but locked out and only enabled by the removal of the RiS reminder (when RiS is complete, higher speed limit is unlocked).

I wonder where you can legally try to reach 177mph in US. Even on tracks with long straights it's almost impossible to go that fast.
