The pictures provided are just a reference example of the bolt that I was working on for my car. The bolt is currently stuck on the screw. I was working on replacing my front control arm bushings on my e90 earlier today but I ran into an issue. I was working on getting this bolt off and had a hard time trying to do it with an impact wrench. So I used a breaker bar to get it loose, and tried to use my impact again to finish the job. I basically think I stripped the bolt and now it won’t come off or tighten back on. I tried to follow this YouTube video(

but I just couldn’t get it to work how he did. Does anyone have any thoughts on what I should do next, or if I should just try to remove the bolt and get a new bolt and screw.. I’m just kind of stumped right now and don’t know what to do..

So it’s spinning but won’t come off?

It will spin if you don’t counter hold it. Did you counter hold it with a T45 socket?

As above, you have to counter-hold it or it will just spin in the joint boot and destroy the joint if you are trying to re-use it. And clean out any debris or rust before you insert the torx bit or you will strip the sides and be really stuck.
It's possible to use impact to remove these, but you need high force to undo it quickly. If you have a weak impact, it will loosen it, but not quickly enough before it starts spinning.

Okay thank you so much guys, I didn’t know that it took a t45 because I was just going by how he did it in the video. I felt it but ignored the indention because I thought it would just screw off and got frustrated.

Yes, as others mentioned already, COUNTER HOLD it. The guy in your video was just luck he did not need to counter hold it, but maybe he did and just did not show it in the video.
