Even though it states on the Amazon page: "This does not fit

In the product description, the very first thing it says is "Compatible with BMW G42"

What you are seeing is being automatically generated by Amazon. The seller has not gone through and told amazons databases every single make model trim that the button fits. The same thing can happen even with OEM parts when the manufacturer never offered them in another platform even if they happened to be compatible.

The red of the Amazon button is not as dark and vibrant as the AliExpress.

I like the quality of gloss and red of the AliExpress button, but the build quality of the Amazon one seems more "OEM"... The Amazon one did arrive damaged and is double the price.

I just purchased the Lanyun Start/Stop Button from Amz. Did you guys apply heat to the clay per the photo instructions?

No, I used a glue stick.

1. Clean stock start button with rubbing alcohol
2. Melt one end of glue stick with lighter
3. Place melted end onto start button and let it sit for 1-2 minutes until it's completely cooled
4. Yank the glue stick straight up

So the package from Amazon arrived today. The included sticky clay worked great and it didn't even need heat. It's 70 degrees in SoCal today btw.

I lightly cleaned the surface of the OEM button with cotton ball/alcohol. Then applied the clay/putty making sure to cover the whole surface of the OEM button. I pulled straight up WITH AUTHORITY and it was out.

Two minutes tops!
