Well, the time has come...
My 2008 jet black 335i lease expires in about sixty days. My current car is my third BMW (2006 325i, 2007 330i, 2008 335i) and I am debating options.
The car has a fair amount of options: sport package, premium package, navigation, satellite radio, automatic transmission, and maybe some other minor options that I am forgetting at the moment. The residual on the car is $28,000. I am kind of impartial about the car. I like it, and it's very nice, but I am not all that excited by it. The car only has 25,000 miles on it, so the reality is, I hardly drive it. Question is -- what would you do at the end of the lease? Would you buy it, given the low miles, and drive it for a while? Give it back and walk away from it? Other...? Just getting an idea of options that are out there, and the opinion of others, and what they'd do. Thanks. |

Contact a few dealers and ask what they would sell you the car for. It is usually under your residual so say $26,000. Then you could try to sell it for $29K and run it through the dealer. It has really low miles for a 2008. Someone would want it, sounds reasonably optioned as well.
Good luck..
