Trunk Opening on 230i

Just picked up a beautiful 230i after a long wait!

When I open the trunk (either using the button on the key or the button on the trunk), it unlocks, but doesn’t pop open. Should it automatically open all the way up?

Don’t know about the 230i but the new m240 don’t pop up on there own u manually have to open so I’m assuming the 230i would be the same

Yes, no pop on my M240. Agree that 230 would be the same. Would be cool if it had the foot dealie option. I guess the lowly 2 series doesn’t deserve that

Could swap out the struts to open when unlock via the key fob. Would still need to manually close, not a fully automatic solution.

I had a 3 series before that would pop the trunk up. and on a couple of occasions I had accidentally hit the trunk button on the keyfob while I was in a store and walk out to my trunk open. so its not all bad.

My 2022 230i trunk doesn't pop open.

No. It's been mentioned in a number of reviews the 2-door's trunk doesn't pop up.

Forward to 12:20 mark...
