lighting package question
This option has the same LED lights, just the lighting package adds automatic high beams and adaptive lights that turn with the steering correct? Trying to confirm if anyone didnt get the lighting package.

On the build page it says this for the two features on the lighting package:
"LED headlights make everything on and along the road easier to see, helping to reduce eye fatigue - especially on long drives. LED technology is used for both high and low beams. This technology is combined with the Adaptive feature: at speeds up to 35 mph, the headlights swivel to follow bends in the road, based on your steering wheel motion and other metrics. Driving at night is easier than ever when your BMW is equipped with Automatic high beams. A camera sensor in the rear-view mirror registers vehicles in front of you, oncoming traffic and the quality of road light, and automatically switches between high or low beams, as needed. This adds to your comfort by not only maximizing visibility, but also eliminating the need to dim the lights manually." So while the headlights and running lights are in fact LED, the lighting package adds adaptive LEDs (pivot as you turn) and have auto high beams. The standard LED lights do automatically come on if the rain sensing windshield wipers are on. |

The package adds:
Stylized day time running lights (as opposed to small light bars). Adaptive headlights. Automatic high beams.

Have to remember always that BMW also says remote key is a thing and that the wireless charger “cools the phone”… so take their claims with a grain of salt lol

I have the adaptive lights on my 335is. I’m not planning to add them to the M2. Just not worth it to me, as I’m already stretching to appease the Admiral. I’m also not getting the Carbon Package. But I’m sure as hell getting the remote start. Phoenix car. Today 112°F

This is one of the few examples of the base lights that has been posted: https://www.bmwblog.com/2023/03/23/2...ok-motor-show/

I still went with the lighting package though, because why not and seemed like the DRL was a bit different than the non package. |

Interesting this one has shadowline package but no lighting package. I actually prefer the chrome exhaust tips without shadowline, I think it makes the rear look more aggressive as opposed to having the tips blend with the diffuser, just looks off to me for some reason.

I don’t have wireless charging on my G42 and I’m glad because I found out the phone takes forever to charge. I plug mine into the console and charged in no time.

Be glad you saved a few bucks on a useless piece. I’ve been trying a refund, haven’t given up yet!

Me and my wife have pixels and I'm hopeful we can get a bit of use out of it, specifically for the person who isn't using android auto.

I do not have proof of this, but I suspect that the wireless charging option is holding up some of our current builds, post production.

And yes, because of using CarPlay, the phone will get hot and consume battery, the wireless charger adds insult to injury and the phone shuts down after an hour… and it barely keeps the battery up to the same charge it had before. I trust if my phone wasn’t connected to the car I’d be able to charge it and it wouldn’t shut down, but not because the car “cooled it” as the ad says, just because it’d warm up due to normal charging. Curious as to the Android: if it’s being used for Android Auto, can you still charge wireless with success after an hour or so? |

I think this is true. I remember people with G42 waiting a long time for their orders vs those that didn’t get wireless charging.

I'm picking up my M2 in 2 weeks so I'll let you know how it holds up on the road trip back. Fingers crossed it's marginally better than the iPhone. But when I ordered it I was pretty confident it might not end up being too useful.
