No Carbon Pkg. Just carbon roof and interior. It might be what you suspect.

To be honest, I had no clue and it was a genuine question. I only asks because maybe it was like a gimmick to try and get you to buy more options, or things of the sort to appeal to the market

It comes with the car, it’s not an added option.
It works really well, and integrates with the car as if it’s the built-in unit so the navigation arrows and distance, street names, etc. show up on the dash and HUD, just like the buitl-in nav, you can speak to your phone by holding the button or not, just voice activated, the albums and playlists are all integrated and show on dash etc.
It’s great. We don’t need the built-in stuff actually lol

A $650 option stretches you on a $65,000+ car? Have you considered an M240i?

Apple CarPlay is far better than iDrive. I suggest you try it.

I read that the car itself is a stretch, not a $650 option. If you are already stretching to get the car, why opt in on things you don't feel are necessary. It seems reasonable to me.

But to be fair, I am getting every option available with the 6MT except bucket seats, and I feel like this car is a stretch for me. I would be completely happy with an M240,and happier in some senses, but I want the last BMW manual.

$650 is less than 1% of the price of the car. Nitpicking stuff like headlights just seems silly. There’s no pride in bareboning a $65,000+ car, at least in my personal opinion. I optioned my 6MT exactly how I wanted to, knowing it was going to be my very, very long-term car. No regrets. $650 over 8-10 years of ownership is basically nothing. I can’t relate to having a wife that gets mad about my hobbies though.

The rest sounds right, but Carplay in the HUD? There was a review that explicitly said CarPlay Nav didn't work with the HUD. Have you confirmed that?

Waze (and possibly other Nav apps) doesn’t work.

Apple Maps does.

For a couple minutes I did. The problem is I also have to buy a new Lexus RX this month for you know who. So, at some point I have to draw some kind of line as it’s a lot of cash going out the door for CARS. And, I really want my first M under full warranty so I won’t have to spend time under it for a while. If money were no object I’d buy an M4. Wait! The beaver teeth - no I wouldn’t. I just couldn’t. Not that the front end of the M2 is that much better but the black will hide it a little.
That said, I’m not sure on the lights now. There were things I wasn’t aware of as I’m learning here. I thought it was just that they aimed at the direction like my current lights do. At <35 mph, I don’t think that really matters. So, the jury is still out on the lights for me.

Arizona is pretty flat, and you may only during daylight, so it’s understandable.

For me, it’s a safety feature. Being able to spot deer sooner can save your ass around here in the twisties. Plus, when summer is over daylight is done at 4-5 pm and then it’s super dark. So I get a lot of use of the lights.

Figure out your use case and decide. Nothing wrong with not choosing an option or two if you don’t use it. They’re not free, and the car doesn’t have to be “fully loaded” (none are anyway).

I also plan on 10 years probably. And it’s not that there is anger there, but I’m also an audiophile and there is a little expense there too. Maybe too many expensive hobbies. And she really gets zero about either. Thankfully she’s patient, well sort of, until I cross the line(s). I’m trying to color within the lines.

I hear that, coming from 25 years in MN. This car will be 90 % urban driving. In 28 years I’ve seen almost NO animals here to have to avoid. I’m just not sure it’s worth it for me. I have to take a closer look at the aesthetics.

All same, just one wheel has the outer spokes burnished.

I’m on the fence, but leaning toward black although I like the bi color pattern better. Getting BG

I saw both in person before buying the car.
I had 100% certainty I wanted burnished. Once I saw it in person (on a black car) I immediately turned 180.

But I might be a bit biased since I didn’t get a choice and I had to like the black wheels.

But I really do. And it helps with the brake dust too.

You can’t go wrong I don’t think. Especially with a light coloured car, the black will look great. It’s one of those things that don’t photograph well as well.
