Wanting to step my car up a notch - having trouble deciding how.

Hey forum! I have an 09 6mt FBO 335i running the Cobb stage 2 aggressive map. It's definitely quick but the power's never felt overwhelming. Running VRSF downpipes, Big Tom FMIC, BMS DCI and an oil catch can. Anywho, I'm ready to take it to the next level. I have a 335is clutch sitting in my trunk but I'm wanting to keep the stock turbos. I do have access to e85 but only at one gas station so I'm leaning more towards meth. I'd looked into the Aquamist HFS 3 kit and pairing it with a protune from Brentuning or similar. Or I could ditch the Cobb and go JB4 and use their integrated meth kit. Does this require a backend flash? I've also seen some ethanol testers that have a sensor and can give the ethanol content via bluetooth. Pretty cool! I'm having a hard time figuring out which route is best for me. Then there's the lingering temptation to sell the car and buy a c63 but I'm trying to keep that thought at bay lol. I've done my homework and all seem like good options but if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome. I'm guessing I'm at around 380whp now, I'd really like to see 430. I have a dyno in the area I can do a baseline run on once I figure out what to do. Thanks in advance!

Less prone to error, mess free, and more power in my opinion depending on ethanol concentration/mix

Don't use Meth as a fueling solution.

If you have E85 access that's your best bet.
If you only have one station and its your daily driver that could pose a challenge.

That's the problem. It's also about 20 minutes out of the way; not the end of the world but certainly annoying. I like the ease of operation with meth, never having to worry about mixing the right ratio of ethanol content and being able to buy gas wherever I want.

I used it on my previous supercharged ZHP to aid with cooling but not to gain power from increased timing. Many on here and other forums with other cars seem to do it safely. Care to explain why not? I'm all ears, just wanting to know people's rationale.

If you want to retain stock turbos, I would get inlets and a custom tune for some more power. Maybe a stage 2 lpfp but likely not necessary w stock turbos on 93 only.

I'll look more into inlets, thanks for the advice! stage 2 lpfp likely would be necessary for the power I'm looking for unless I get meth as I'm already running 18.5 psi. More timing advance would be quite beneficial I believe.

inlets, outlets, e60 through stage 2 LPFP.
TBI and N20 TMAP to support the HPFP if planning above 20 psi.
I think that's pretty much maxed out on stockers

Interesting! Is running 20+ psi detrimental to turbo longevity? I have 119k and as far as I know my turbos are original but seem to be in great shape. Thanks for the reply!

IMHO the idea is to make the work of turbos easy so that they last longer. With aftermarket bigger inlets and outlets, 20psi wont be big deal , since it will be achieved with less wgdc than stock. 20psi on stock setup will be detrimental to turbos on long run. My 2c.

Inlets, secondary cat delete and custom tune within the limits of stock fuel system would be best bang for buck and reliable.

Interesting, how much extra do you think you can squeeze from a FBO by adding new turbo inlets and outlets?

I'm not sure about outlets but inlets, secondary cat delete and custome tune will make a bit more power and better reliability, driveability and response than OTS Cobb map without those mods.
