Help with difference between BMW Z4 N54 and 335is N54 parts
So my engine from my 335is lost compression on cylinder 4 and I purchased a N54 6 bolt motor from a 2016 Z4 with only 1,756 miles.
My motor is from a 2016 Z4 Sdrive 35i and will be arriving tomorrow. I want to triple check part number differences. Hopefully the swap will work out perfectly fine with no issues, but I need help with making sure the part number differences are only minor and my car will run fine with this engine. I double checked ECU and it's the same one used on almost all N54s. Probably just a few software differences. Here are the parts that I see that are different and an explanation on what I'll do to resolve the issue: 1. Engine(The part numbers are different, but they use the same part number when you order a remanufactured engine.) I believe they are the same design overall. 2. Alternator (Will use 335is Alternator) 3. The belt tensioner and belt(will use 335is belt and tensioner) 4. LPFP sensor fuel pipe is not used on the Z4(That's an easy swap) 5. Intake (I'm using inlets) 6. Z4 doesn't use a power steering pump.(Fingers crossed their is mounting points for the power steering pump. Know of anything else I should check? |
