Hi,
if anybody would be interested in profi black box / trip recorder, I have one left.
It works smoothly with E9x. It is professional device which (in addition to service contract) was over 3000 Eur, of course as it is spare, it will be far lower. Supported is over 2 GB of SD memory cards which gives you about 3 months worth of recording or ring buffer. Software, sources, SDK and drivers included. Supports Pocket PC and Windows, but the device it self is not depending on computer (while can be used in addition to car PC)

It is used shortly, but these kind of devices never break.

It goes to OBD or to one of distribution connectors, docu is included. It is not complicated setup even for those who dont want to have it visible. It is universal and fits to any BMW, Mercedes and many other cars i can remember. It is from a rallye car.

basically anything, from car speed, gear, GPS, braking power, clutch distance to servo, to if doors are closed, lights lightning or airbags fired, for E90 there are 12600+ measurements a second for different features. it can be also programmed to for chiptuning on wish, but you would need different i/o, this one is for safety reasons with some fibrewire separated that it doesnt influence car in any way.
It is than exported for example for html with precise time.

It is great tool specially when you have to lend your car to someone or keep it in dealer you dont trust as so much. You not only know where it goes, but when, how fast and even how sharp he was cornering :-D or rewing the engine.

Do I need to buy a program for my home computer to retrieve all these data or the program included in this kit?

I know you indicated eur pricing. Any pricing for the USA ?

by google the price would be for new 3 851USD based on price i paid, but this one would of course be lot cheaper (you can make a offer) since is not needed (i have two spare if i would take the one in girl's car)
all soft is included (full CD for PDA and normal Windows) with SDK kit (something for programming your own scripts and so on - never used it, but it is huge), you can retrieve the data over USB 1 or just take the memory card to card reader.
There is also some automated tool to convert it directly to some Apache server sorted by date of driving and so on. Gross
