Truth be told, alot of F87 owners wanted to love this car and be ready to sell their car to buy it. No one is butthurt about the G87. I wanted to be ready to part with my F87 to buy a G87, but sadly that will not be the case.
I won't sell my F87 either way. However, I've said way before the leaks that I may buy the G87 in a few years in addition to the F87.

I guess it will have to be this one, as I'd only buy it in manual. I doubt the Comp or CS will offer a manual again.

I said on the leaked pics that I'd hold my opinion until the official reveal. Now I need to see it in person.

It has potential. The front is already growing on me, the fenders are very aggressive in a good way. The rear just looks to much. Maybe that will grow on me too.

Looks better than the M4. I prefer the M3 though. I'm more likely to get a used G80 manual in a couple years.

I'm sure it drives fantastic despite the weight. I don't care about 0-60 once you get below 5 seconds. I'm sure it will sell like hotcakes.

Right so what about non F87 owners? Not liking the same thing you like is just butthurt huh?

What a pathetic attitude.

It is a forum. If you don’t like it, its a free world. Stop reading.

I am appaled by the way you are talking with the others. The F world proves only the opposite of “respectable”.

I would like to believe that this community has a certain level…

Pictures from previous models reiterate somone’s opinion. Plus, if he considers that is more beautiful, what?

Everyone ended up buying one?

M2 started out in the OG with horrid seats and a supposed non M engine ( which still in my mind was the correct engine because it was way more fun to drift ) to being basically identical to the M4 bar being smaller and I'm sure some finer details and 20bhp less..

Interesting it is, but still don't like the design language of the current BMW's, I shouldn't have to go to aftermarket companies like Vorsteiner and beg them to fix my rear because it looks like a Pokémon's face.
They will sell a ton just cause it's a great value for money from a hp standpoint.
That's sort of what I was getting at, was that the F87 had a target market which was people leaving hot hatches and wanting the next step at a reasonably affordable way of getting into the sports car segment thus getting the results they did because that's exactly who mainly bought the car, modified it and loved it and moved on up but there was a noticeable gulf in interior parts and engine as oppose to the M4.

As you've pointed out and I'd agree now it's just about how many can they make and sell in the shortest time possible.

Also it's getting made in Mexico if I recall

The saving grace being the engine.. be interesting with this engine how many people will still say the 240i is all the car a person needs.. albeit imo the 240i is far better looking at the front then this new M2…

Very heavy... 200 pounds more than the 8y RS3 with AWD. Looks ok... but I much prefer the M3 and M4 look... no comparison imo.

Still back where I was. If you want the ultimate G car in auto, you are looking at a G82 CSL or G80 CS. This car weighs too much for them to give you a CSL that's much different than the G82 CSL.

All we can hope is the CS/CSL is a 473hp/406 tq car with a manual and 100kg+ deleted in weight. That still weighs more than an F87 CS, which can reach that hp/tq by putting an eventuri and akra on it to reduce back pressure.

I'd still consider buying a g87 CS/CSL if they go the "less weight, less power but 6 spd" route.

Yes. I plan to keep my next car (95% on a G42 thus far) for a very long time as ICE cars get phased out. Premium gas by me got up to $7 / gallon, who knows what it'll be 5 years from now.

It's also about efficiency. The G42 can get like 38mpg on the highway with 400hp on tap (which is PLENTY). The G87 won't come close, but you'll get 70hp you can use like 2% of the time.

The B58 will go down as one of the best overall modern engines ever.

If by backpedaling, you mean "walking backwards away from a BMW dealer" then yes.

For all the F8X owners… your cars were not well received either. Makes me roll my eyes when all of you say you fell in love right away

My advice is to stop trashing on other cars to make yourself feel better

I feel the same. If I had to pick one I think the F80 is the best looking. F82 never did anything for me and F87 fell somewhere in between.

Pale blue color STILL absolutely awful.

All of the odd angles and curves don't flow well. Back end STILL awful.

Interior colors are childish and belong on a 90's Honda Civic.

Weight is unforgivable. 3,800-3,900 pounds? FFS...

50/50 on pulling name off the dealer's list.

I miss the days of 1 or 2 packages. The option list is going to be as bad as a M3/M4 and just as expensive.

Agreed.

Also, where is that higher version of the spoiler (from the shot of the woman at the gas station)?
