I’m glad my dealer told me striaight up they don’t know and didn’t feed me any bs. This is my first time buying from BMW so it’s nice to know some dealerships aren’t full of it. Deep down I’m hoping some people get discouraged and drop there spot so I can get up higher in line

Longer we wait is better. Maybe it will get pushed into MY24.

And more importantly, possible Individual paint options.

Well, if BMW AG is telling the truth, that would be bad for those wanting a sole ICE. This model year is supposed to be the last of the all ICE M cars BMW will produce.

Isn't the G87 going to be designated a 2024? Anything produced January on can be.

So I guess I'll take it as end of February we'll possibly see M2 allocations then? Like Bmw please just get the damn cars out 3rd on the waitlist for the M2 and been 1st for 7 months on an M4. How does one not get frustrated any advice?

MY24 starts production in September, anything prior is MY24. But if your 4 or above on the list chances are most likely it will be MY24.

100%

No CA likes a client that is a constant nuisance. Reality, the amount of commission received on the backend is generally not worth the hassle.

Fixed.

Given that production began in December 2022 the G87s currently produced are MY23. It should roll to MY24 on/around week 35/36, the end of August, the first of September.

As a side note, my ‘15 M4 was produced 6/6/14, so that hasn't always been the case.

Since I am a ways down on the list at my dealer, the thing I am more curious about isn't when the first allocations drop but how many. This might clue some of us that are further down the list how long the wait might be. We will find out eventually I suppose.

Tq limit on the manual tranny. Can’t tune it past it’s stock numbers. Got a great engine but everything connected to it sucks.

Are we actually arguing looks here…. Neither is pretty. But ct4 bw would be an over all better track and road car.

And that also why there is vanilla and chocolate. Are you buying a car to solely track? If so, dont think the Caddy is a great option.

It seems by some comments on here, people are trying to justify, or even punish, BMW for any "delays" buy going to another manufacturer and give reasons why that car is better, anyway. IF that is indeed the case, then why did those people not go for the "other car" to begin with? Does 3 - 6 month make that big of a difference to turn your nose up at BMW?

Go try and get a Porsche or a Z06 Vette and let me know the delays you encounter.

CT4BW is a better car in street and track vs new M2. Actual mag suspension, not some gimmick that is either over sprung on sport or under sprung on comfort. There is plenty of chat here that states otherwise. Steering and manual is subpar on m2. I really wanted the m2 but they biffed it in my opinion everywhere. And I did put my $$ where my mouth is and took my name off the dealer list in #1 slot and bought my first GM product. Maybe bmw will redeem itself with a CS version but I’ll hold my breath.

I doubt it TBH. GM just announced a full development plan of a new ICE V8. I think the tide is turning on flex-fuels and synthetic fuels, and manufacturers are willing to invest in some smaller market enthusiast cars that take full advantage of the non-fossil fuel fuels. They will be priced accordingly, but they will exist.

BMW CEO specifically stated something like: "BMW builds the world's most efficient engines. As long as there is a market for ICE cars, we have to be in it."

One or two words will be off, but that was the message.

That's true, but the limiting factor is torque. It's very easy these days to limit torque and not horsepower. I'm betting someone will find a way for the S58 to make power higher up without impacting reliability - just like the 3.0CSL's 553hp.

Are you talking just without upgrading the clutch? The transmission is fine it's the clutch that needs changing when you start making more power

TBH I don't actually know, I haven't researched that far yet.

I just know BMW can clearly make more HP without effing the driveline, so no reason why tuners can't do it.

What was written was as to the BMW M category only, which is what I said (I never made any reference to GM, although they did just release the "hybrid version of the Z06; and Audi has stated that they are releasing no new ICE and by 2025, all their cars will be hybrids or electric). This was posted in many articles in the 4th quarter or 2022. I have not seen and redaction, retraction or changes to that to date. If you have seen otherwise, please feel free to post

Tuners can do it but the manufacturers are all locking the ECUs and TCUs (Porsche, included) so not only is it pricey and time consuming to tune these new cars, but it voids the warranties.

If you truly want to tune your car, grab a low mileage 2019 and earlier and go for it.
