N54 oil level at minimum

I got the oil level at minimum notification in my car saying add one liter of oil. Bought the car 1 month ago previous owner has changed the oil 2 weeks before purchasing so i assume 2000km ago. When i bought the car oil level was little below half. Should i be worried or just add the liter and see if it happens again?
Using 5w-30 mobil1.

Buy the big jug. (I think for Mobil 1 it's five quarts.) Add the recommended liter and get used to having to add oil. It's completely normal for an N54.

I will have to respectfully disagree that consuming that much oil is normal for an N54. My N54 gets run hard on stage 2+ E50 tune and I consume something like 1/8-1/4 of a quart per 5K Miles.

Its highly likely OP has a bad PCV, or something else like a bad turbo seal that is causing the much higher than normal oil consuption.

I personally use the 0w40 Mobil 1 Euro FS formula though, but its not that much thicker than the 5w30, so I wouldn't expect consuption to be significantly different.

Thats what i was thinking thats its not that normal to use that much oil. Just ordered bms pcv valve hoping it will solve my issue.

Are you sure that when they changed the oil 2000km ago that they filled it to the max? Did you check the oil level when you got the car? Maybe they drained the oil, then just added 6 liters, so the total oil in the car was like 6.3l after the oil change, and 2000 km later it burned off that 0.3l so your oil consumptions is actually 1l/6000km

Just asked the previous owner he said he added 6liters, when i got it and checked it showed little lower than half now got the min notification. So you could be right thanks gonna top off and replace the pcv and see the consumption then

It takes 7 liters so he probably didn’t put enough in or he is fibbing a bit about changing the oil. My car doesn’t burn a drop between changes, that’s not normal.

First, take a deep, deep breath.

Second, if you using 1 qt every 4000 KM, that isn't much oil.

Third, as an inexpensive test, drain oil, refill oil with correct amount, and monitor oil usage.

Fourth, as you car holds 7 qts, being down one qt is no biggie, just keep it topped up.
