Theft: Stripped '24 M3 found in Cali this am

I don’t know any details of how this happened. My brother was out walking while on vacation in Studio city California and came across a stripped M3. He sent me pictures (including the vin and the paper NJ tag) and I sent the pictures to a manager at my local central Florida dealer (he said he would pass it up the line). Thieves suck!

This would make a sick race car though if snagged up at the right price.

For a car that's been stripped of nearly everything I'm surprised they left the taillights and steering wheel. They also took the doors but not the hood or trunk. Doesn't make sense but then again neither does being a pofs thief.

Probably need the wheels and steering wheel to aid in a quick dump.

Sad part is this is driven by the clowns who buy these parts. Soon another set of buckets (I presume) up for sale for a ridiculous amount of money severely discounted, and the same person who lost the car buys it again and posts up saying he got a great deal on them…

No market = no theft

The front bumper, with that beaver face/pig nose was taken over the hood, steering wheel and other parts of value? Very suspicious...

Something seems very VERY odd about this car. To meticulously & methodically take all those parts off this M3 would take quite a bit of time. I don't see any cut wires which would indicate these part removers really took their time. Even the powertrain & drivetrain isn't a simple easy process to remove them from the chassis. A team must have dismantled this elsewhere & then dropped it off here. There's no way a group of people completed this during the cloak of darkness on a city street like that in plain view...

The car was bought in NJ and had a NJ paper tag. I don’t know where it is was stolen but I’m sure that the people that did steal it are professionals.

What else is new. It’s California, they don’t prosecute criminals.

This is the answer I was looking for. This was done way too professionally to be done on the side of a street. I suspect the car was already stolen prior to this happening

Exactly. These guys knew what they were doing & planned this down to T. I'm assuming they must have stolen a key & had a key made. Then drove it to a secret location to begin dismantling it. But before they began moving it they disconnected / unplugged all the tracking devices.
