So much for going oem+, I guess it'll have to be a mix of aftermarket for the G87. Those wheels look awesome though.

I think you guys are judging this car a little too seriously. This is purely an outlandish and extreme attention grabbing car to show off some " performance" parts. No one expects to be fully kitted out in this.

I was in BMW of Las Vegas service department this morning. Waiting area was packed for some reason. Prolly 25 people in there with 10 more milling around the sales floor I'd say the average age was 35-50. Definitely not a young crowd.
BMW eventually going to have to market to a younger generation. This car does that quite nicely. I think overall it looks good. Minus the stick ons. I'm neutral on the rear vents. I like it. |

That said - a $70k+ boy-racer Civic alternative is out of reach for that guy. They gotta be able to pull in the 30-something successful professional - not the kid with 3 roommates working at the mall. I don't see a tarted up G87 appealing to that slightly older guy with money. Civic guy would gladly take one though, if someone would pay for it.

Dunno, I had the 1M when I was 24 and the M2C when I was 32, I felt perfectly suited to those cars at both ages and I didn't consider the M3 E92 and M4 F82 because of that "daddy's car" feeling, in my eyes, not coincidentally my father (60) owned an RS5 (M4 category), so to each his own, for his age.
Now I'm 35 and I still think the M4 is too adult a car for me (no coincidence my dad is now considering the M3 Touring) and the M2 is too much for young/racer-Civic-boys. Both are nice cars, but at my age I don't feel represented by any of the current BMWs on the market. |

I quite like the M Perf bits except for the looks of the exhaust. If given the opportunity I’d definitely give this a go on the track.

I suppose it's just a change in direction. I feel the MP parts of old were geared towards the OEM+ look. That's basically being achieved by the carbon packs these days whereas MP parts are now for people who want to go full boy racer or batmobile. |

I do like the rear bumper inserts. They make the narrow taillights work better somehow and reminds me of the LFA. I don't care for all the other bits though.
