Finally. So this is just about what I expected and said in a different thread would happen. However, if the car s from AutoID, isn’t it modded? It has at least had some suspension work done.

Watch the entire video, they turned the engine tuning box off for the beginning and turned it on at the end ) (watch from minute 7:30)

I was just about to post this video. All the comments say that the M240i looks better than the M2, and I have to agree (ONLY this particular modded M240i). The matte black paint job makes the hood really pop and even the "wide fenders" although we know the M2 is more wide,
it's lowered, and even the triangle inlets make it look sharp with that lip. Putting a stock M240i as a reminder... Good job to that M240i owner |

G87 M2 vs. G42 M240i (Stock and JB4 tuned to 460bhp) - Carwow
The drag race goes as you would expect, once the M2 gets in its stride it starts running away.
But I can't believe it was still quicker stock vs. a 460bhp 240i in a rolling, that's impressive, imagine the M2 tuned? That S58 really is a monster.

Very impressive by the B58, I think if you live in a city, or somewhere with a lot of smaller, straighter roads, the M240xi edges out the M2. If you don’t spend a lot of time on track it’s hard to justify the M2

As I mentioned before, unfortunately only one of those vehicles can be had in a manual and be a car to be considered.
So, in essence, this is a one car comparison. |

Either way, both the M2 and M240i are great. The B58 is arguably one of the greatest engines there is today. |

Same, just sold my 7MT C7. It is a very good shift, but the shifter in my S2000 will always be the pinnacle IMO. The tremec is still very good compared to the other options out there though

This race was pretty much what we ought to expect with the M240 taking the initial lead due to AWD traction and then the M2 would reel it in later. The only thing that surprised me was the reeling in took longer than expected and the 1/4 mile was insufficient distance for the M2 to beat the M240. Sam mentioned that he couldn't invoke any wheel spin in the M2 at the start, thus could not get best start possible. Maybe there was something wrong with the M2's launch control? |
