Water/meth injection vs walnut cleaning

So since water/meth injection helps to clean up intake and keep it clean I’m curious if it would be as effective as a traditional CBU cleaning? Obviously water/meth would take some time to clean but would it work? Car is totally stock unfortunately with 107k miles and to my knowledge no previous CBU cleaning.

It won’t hurt. Not sure how effective it’ll be if you have CBU. I’m sure it’ll help but, I think you’d be better off doing the cbu cleaning and then add water injection. Definitely look at deleting or at least blocking your EGR.

It helps to keep it clean. But as a cleaner itself does basically nothing.

to have it actually clean you need to first block the EGR, then it will take a long while to clean CBU.

From what I understand best is to clean CBU, block EGR and then add meth.. if you don't block the EGR and add meth it will help keep it clean, but it will not really clean at its best because it will constantly fighting with the incoming EGR soot.

i wonder if alcohol would do a better job at cleaning 50/50 with water, or is that a no no on diesels? (used on petrols)

If CBU was just sludge those things might help, but the CBU that I've seen needs a chisel to remove. It's hard carbon. That's why it needs blasting. No injection will clean that.
No short-cut with this. Pay the price, or pay the price.

Could get up till 70/30 mix to see if it really cleans it up. But that's just a thought
